to be fair to rovers they didn't start any substantial ground improvements until the 99 year lease was finalised in 2005. they did the pitch, east stand and now the north stand. the north stand is a bit of a gamble but rovers are hoping they can increase the amount of both home and away supporters with the better facilities. i'm not convinced by the away support increasing too much, as the facilities at the kc haven't resulted in huge increases in away supporters for us. the exception may be the derby as a lot of hull fans didn't like being housed in immingham to watch it as we all know and stayed away, and there may be a bit of 1st season curiosity from the other club's fans. rovers are looking at quite a few bums on seats to help pay for this development, and these will need to be new bums and not just bums moving from other parts of the ground. (that's enough bums for one post)

I do, and with great affection. I also remember the old Craven Park (a proper rugby ground).

The old craven park was a shiithole mish mash of stands with a greyhound track and a field in the middle. Hardly a proper rugby ground

All old grounds are remembered fondly and with rose-tints.

In the main, they were God-awful, run-down death-traps. Hence their demolition.

The Boulevard, Central Park, The Willows and Craven Park were pretty bad and had some terrible views, portakabin offices and toilets and crumbling terraces.

Think yourselves lucky you're not Fev, Wakey or Cas fans.

Sure do played on it many times back in the day in curtain raisers for northern dairies, went to boulevard for years also as a fan started in 89 onwards remember john gallagher dropping that bomb in the premiership semi like it was yesterday as we all went mental! I was 13 at the time. Good times.

For now, both sets of fans should take comfort that Dr Allam does not have outright ownership of either ground. Council ownership has never looked so good, in comparison to Allam World.

If they get promoted North Ferriby will be playing at the kc lightstream stadium from next season ... Watch this space

The biggest benefit for them will be if the footballers churn the pitch up as it will suit their big cumbersome no frills pack.
