It seems obvious, a bit like players training in the positions they play in.

I'm surprised and a bit disappointed that after a full pre season Ellis is still overweight. He was clearly overweight last year which might be OK in the Championship but I don't know of any other overweight scrum halves in SL. As you say Nicklas is ahead of him and fitness is probably a big reason why.

I don't think ellis will ever make it at the top level. If he had the heart he'd have lost the extra weight by now. Just a symptom of a lack of desire to achieve at the top level for me

Talking about weight, I actually think that Moa has lost some of his impact game due to the amount of weight he has lost, hopefully as the season progresses I will be proved wrong by this observation.

I think too much is being made of his weight. He's naturally big, and trains as much as the other players in the team. I think he'd at least equal Seymour in a foot race too. Would be great if he turned out like Bobbie Goulding, who was a similar build.

That would be great...Personally I am not too bothered about his weight,he has a sweet kicking game. I am just interested to see how he will fare in SL, it's a big step up. Hopefully before the season finishes he will get a shot.

Wasnt that sweet yesterday and his weight is a issue.Can only see him getting a shot if Symour,Horne aand Nicklas get injured or a place in the cup if we get a favourable draw.

Aye,Mr Gentle did see things differently when he put Nicklas in ahead of Ellis.

How big was that winger for London,the number 5 and he was bloody quick and scored a beauty in the 2nd half.

We had a player called Curtis Jackson, 50 cents real name ( don't think you'll know who he is though getting in a bit now mate

But yeah the 5 looked really good, he's in the first team squad.

According to Smailes (also a report by Wilf) in one of the pre-season friendlies Nicklas was good but Ellis was excellent and led the team around the pitch and some good kicking, so I doubt there is that much to choose tbh.
Like I said earlier I hope he gets a shot before the end of the season, as I do most of the young talent we have.

Maybe so but Gentle obviousley saw something more in Nicklas or else Ellis would have played.I hope he does get a run out but i was suprised at how big he was for a 7 and he does need to shed some for me,being that big for a 7,he would tire very quickly in the pace of 1st team.

Yeah he did carve them up with his own individual abilty.

The things that I hoped to see off of Ellis was stuff that would transition to SL regardless of opposition such as kicking game and controlling Hulls offence but he was lacking in both departments.

Lewis Brown yet again is a kid that stands out every time I see him even playing against older and bigger players.

Thought Kent starting at prop was a very weird call as he should be playing his first team role for the 20s which is a wide running back rower not a down the middle battering ram.

a fellow player said he a fit lad and gentle has had him all winter. so i don't believe he suddenly decided he ain't fit enough when the season starts! more a case of improving speed and agility,plus it can only help carrying a bit less!
