Is this a RH issue or are the club still putting barriers in the way?
As a public sector broadcaster I'd expect a near 50/50 split yet seems to be about 70/30 at best'" Probably coz Agars a dreary dullard |

I have, like a lot more I guess, stopped listening of late, because it is usually after a Rovers game and with GL in the chair it usually decends into his normal Roversathon. On the week that Yeamo got his new contract there was a three minute interview with him, and that was it for FC fans, absolutely nothing else, not even an encouragement for us to ring in, so I stopped listening after that week. The cosy 'More Tea Vicar' interview with the Rovers coach was so long that short of commenting on his aftershave and choice of socks (I await a comment here) there was nothing left to talk about, it went on for about 9/10 minutes.
Its usually a biased balance in my opinion, blamed no doubt by GL on the fact that we usually play on a Friday whilst the Dobbins play on a Sunday.
It should be either an after match programme or a true RL magazine show, but on a Sunday its hard to do justice to being either. I don't know why, during the Summer at least, why they dont do it on a Friday Tea time, say six to seven, with news, views callers and previews etc of both clubs games. Then i would be a real magazine programme.

Absolutely spot on Wilf. I like Mike White, but suggest he listens to a replay of The Oval Ball after Rovers game against Bradford and reconsiders his comments that it's a show for both teams. Interview with the coach that was interminable, plus players, Rovers fans phoning in and then the icing on the cake was a feature on Rovers promotion with extended replayed audio highlights. As you say the 3 minute interview with Yeamo just seemed out of place in an hour dedicated to Rovers. It's a Rovers show, and Humberside is a Rovers station, that's just the way it is. Won't change whilst Lloyd is RL editor. |

Ithink its obvious that Spin FM get the preferential treatment and the club wont allow players to be interviewed in the tunnel after games like we used to get. Also not allowed to speak to the coaches before the official press conference as they wont go up to the commentary positions in west upper will they |
