Heard a rumour last night that The Dobbins were tipped off about the Burgess situation. Grudge offered 17 losers medals and 4 goldfish, Bath asked for time to think it over, Russell Crow stepped in smartly to clinch a deal.

Rumour I heard put on a Hull FC "Rumours" thread. For What it's worth, I thought the 4 goldfish was abit unbelievable.

We're not signing anyone! Can't be too far from the 'We'll go with what we've got' article in the Mail and the (more than likely started by the club) rumours have managed to push record passes this past week.

Smart by the club, not so much the fans though.

We need to keep an eye out, but we still don't have a quota/mom fed place, so would have to release someone, rumour of Micheals going to wakey, might now be off, due to all their recent signings.

I think we have made a big mistake in letting the players decide about Carney.

IMO there will be a lot going on behind closed doors. The club might be keeping any signings close to there chests and just let the rumour mill spin away

I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't sign anyone else before the start of the season.

Sure if an exceptional player such as Carney becomes available you have to try to get him but there is no point in signing average players just to make up the numbers.

It may be that a very good player becomes available during the season and it would be good to have the cap space to be able to make a move for him.

You say it's smart by the club but Carney aside any other player we have been linked with appears to have been a rumour that's popped up on the internet and they aren't going to address every rumour that appears. Same as any other season.

The club's stance for a few months now has been that our recruitment is done. AP and LR said as such last week on Humberside but added that Carney's availability made them have a rethink. But it was the player, not the squad space with Westerman being sold, that caused the rethink. Motu said something to back up this stance last week in the HDM by saying that "Unless it is someone who is going to make us extremely better than what we already are we will run with what we have got, but we do have funds to make a move."

So personally, I'm not sure they need to give a "we go with what we've got" article as they have been saying for awhile now that recruitment is done so is there any need to say it again? BJB, Chase and whoever else we are linked with all seems to be coming from us fans. And as said above, the club isn't likely to address these rumours because they rarely do.

In a nutshell. And I don't think BJB fitted the "exceptional" category, good player though he undoubtedly is.
