Like Jake points out we would need to win 3 more than Cas.

So with 10 games to go we would need to win at least 6 (And hope Cas lose all of those) from Bradford/Wakey/Saints/Salford/Leeds/Wigan/Catalan/Crusaders/Cas/Warrington (I can see 4 or 5 wins from those)

To stay in the 8 we also need to keep getting better results than Rovers/Bradford & Salford

Rovers have Wire/Quins/Wakey/Crusaders/Salford/Hudds/Bradford/Saints/Catalan/Cas (Possible 5 wins i would say)

Bradford have Hull/Leeds/Cats/Cas/Hudds/Wire/Rovers/Wigan/Crusaders/Wakey (possibly 4 wins)

Cas have 4 or 5 games against teams in the bottom 6 so the odds of us catching them are slim to none. So 8th really is the best we can hope for

What would you guys rather see from the rest of the season, Agar continue to pick his strongest side every week and possibly end up in 8th spot or blood half a dozen or so youngsters over the next 10 games possibly finish 9th but be better equiped for next season?
From a Rovers point of view i would like us to finish in the 8 but in reality even if we do we arnt going to be a threat in the play-offs. Would rather we blood some youngsters in readiness for 2012.

Strongest team and best chance. Giving Green/Aldous/Cunningham/Kent a couple of games each isn't really going to have a material impact on next season's finishing position and even though we'll not make an impact on the play-offs if we do qualify, I'd like us to at least get there.

Can see us losing our nxt 3 games and Salford overtaking us for 8th......Hows that for progress.

If were going to miss the 8 then I'd rather we get thumped every week until the end of the season so that Agar is handed his P45 and we can start dreaming of better times ahead.

Fair enough. I cant help thinking though that from a Rovers perspective the reason that Taylor and Mariano have been such big hits this season (granted Mariano has been a big hit for somebody else) has been because they got that 3 or 4 game taster next season.
How much stronger could Hull and Rovers be next season if they each had half a dozen players in that position?

Tbh at best we are probably looking at 8th which will mean a trip to Leeds. Whilst it would be good to get 8th and maybe win at Leeds I would rather see some gametime for the likes of Green, Aldous, Kent, Cunningham, Newton and Crooks.

It's something Hull have never really done . Barring injuries , When do these kids get a fair chance ?.

Aldous,Bowen and Crooks i would like to see come through some time as for others,i just cant see the fuss about Kent...not done anything for me in the u-20s i have seen.

Precisely, they don't. We might have to rely on some of them next season so why not give them a go this season and see where they are development wise.

Think that's a bit simplistic. Whilst the first team are struggling to make an impression on the competition, would you drop Manu, Tickle, Fitz or Westerman to accommodate an academy back rower? Agar allowed Houghton to displace Berrigan because his performances merited it. Hall and Lee played stacks of games for FC being being moved on. I applaud Saints and their approach of getting youngsters straight in the team when required, but much of that this season has been down to a shocking run of injuries. I do think Agar prefers to shift his senior players round to cover an injury rather than simply replace with an academy specialist, but think you're being a bit unfair.

Does their lack of first team action suggest they may not all be still with Hull next season?

As you say Agar should at least have a look at them playing Super League level in case they are needed next year and there have been a couple of opportunities to do this none more so then last week at home to Quins when Fitz hardly played off the bench.

Why is he being unfair.....we had prop problems earlier so why didnt Aldous get a game...a 80pt drubbing of a pi$$ poor Oldham team wont do him any good...end of the day...our youngsters dont get chances and the sooner the whole coaching set up is overhauled the better.

I take your point but Agar's policy is part of the problem here. We have a potentially good crop of young players at the club but when exactly will they get their chance?

Shuffling players around is not the answer, young players need a chance at some stage and when a senior player is injured then a young player should be given a shot. Otherwise we can't judge where they are in their progression.

That will be most of them then! Last week and the two CC games were the perfect opportunity but we never used it.

Aldous should have been in for O'Meley and Kent for Fitz and maybe Crooks instead of Turner...we could have got away with using these players but,for me,its just shows up Agars limitations and confidence.How many of the u21s/20s have actually come through the ranks to be a regular? Houghton is the only 1 i can think of...Briscoe was fast-tracked..Hall and Lee dropped after poor perfomances,Washy gone backwards,Thackray shipped out...any one else...even in our injury hit years,we didnt use them and they appeared in 3 finals,winning 2.

I don't think you can slag Agar off for playing what is, in his opinion, our best 17.

While we all want to see young players come through, I myself can't wait to see Chris Green play, if one played in front of a available experienced player and he cost us the game these pages would go into melt down.

Hence the question by RBA regarding what fans would prefer. You are right though Agar will want to play his strongest team to help keep his job.
