I've criticised him in the last 2 seasons for not performing to his best. It's great to see him reaching those levels again and I think having a class centre on the other side will spur him on even more.

You'll never get classic centre play from Yeaman but what he can do is run good lines and hit the ball hard. Glad to see him doing that again. He also seems to be working harder in support and getting involved more. As mentioned elsewhere, having a genuine class centre at the club can only be good for him as well.

Felt sorry for Hodgson near the end when Yeaman steam-rolled him. He didn't know where he was, he was desperatly trying to get back in the line and must have tried to get up and fell over 3 or 4 times.

Bet you still laughed at the time though!

The difference this year is that the halves are putting people onto the balls and through gaps, something we haven't seen for 3 years. No coincidence that with quality ball Yeamo starts scoring.

Is Yeaman even in any of the train-on squads for England? Surely he must have forced his way in?

nope but if he carries on then he should deffo be in the squad but the key is been consistent

I'm sure it was once mentioned that Yeamo based his game around the style of Martin Gleeson after been given a lesson in centre play in one of his early games for FC. Do you think Yeamo will benefit further for having Gleeson in the squad? Well played Kirk

I have always liked Welham he still has some development however he is still young and I believe he is capable of International honours at some point in his career. Good to see any of our local lads doing well.

Yeah you're probably right. Like I said I have always been very critical of Whelam but he is making me eat humble pie this year, certainly knows where the line is. Still drops off a few too many tackles for me and lacks a bit of pace to be considered world class.

Head to head Whelam v Yeaman (albeit not up to date). You can probably deduce from that that Whelam works a little harder but Yeaman is more of a handful for defences. Also backs up my point about Whelam's tackling.

He won't get anywhere near international standard until he stops averaging 3 missed tackles per game.
He's nowhere near as good as Yeaman or Gleeson, and imo never will be.

Welham scored a good try on Friday but struggled on a few occasions to hold a 50% fit Gleeson.

Yeah because he outstripped him all those times. The only 3 times they clashed directly -

Welham was one on one with Long for his try, HTH. And the only time I remember either of Welham or Gleeson on their backside was when Welham tried to put a shot on Tickle, and failed miserably.
