Gentle made us competitive at the business end last year, we're enjoying our best cup run since 2008 and we're finally seeing the youngsters at the club progress. But because we're finding it difficult to come up with those Wire & Leeds performances consistently, he's failing?? You just couldn't make it up.

Tbh mate, I'm just getting annoyed at some fans who just go OTT, in both directions. He's doing a good job in general, there's always going to be bumps along the way.

Well I was full of hope at the start of season without being OTT.
I backed us heavily to finish above Rovers (looking dodgy now).
Also backed us to finish 5th or better. (looking very very very dodgy now.

Three games ago we were going well and now suddenly we look like a bunch of amateurs, unable to even do the basics.

And where do people get this idea that hes doing a good job? Hes had two near on two years at this and yes weve blooded a few youngsters but none are his signings and all where employed by the club before he came. His signings - Johnson, Arundel, Crookes are all looking poor and even Ellis is not really showing any outstanding form but like a Rhino fan said earlier, both Leeds and Wests have had the best out of him, now hes knackered. Hes got a bit of a mates club going on in Galea whos finished and Mcdonnell whos very average but on good contracts. The first nine games of the season we was appauling, we had a bit of a run and had two good wins then its fallen apart again. Theres no consistency in performances and people are getting fed up not just of Gentle but of the club. My dad has a season ticket and sits in the middle of east stand and after the Wakey game on monday some of the older supporters around him said thats another season gone and they dont seen anything ever changing whilst theyre alive and they are seriously thinking enough is enough.

this is my biggest concern, we've already had the 'new owners, new coach, new era' stuff and that won't work again. Also at the game on Monday the people leaving early and booing weren't just the usual hotheads overreacting, it was also a lot of fans who sat near us for every season at the KC.

I know you live in a simplistic world but to claim everything has improved under gentle is a dog shiit statement even by your standards. Things aren't as bad as they were under agar overall (Hard to imagine that any coach couldn't have brought about improvements from that idiot) but they're far from good and the team has under performed for more games than it has performed as well as it should. That you can only quote me 2 examples out of the 20 or so games we've played proves my point.

Now gentle may go on to prove to be a good coach but he certainly isn't proving it currently

I love Hull FC and I support it with pride and passion but it is my prerogative to decide wether I think Gentle is doing a good job, and at this moment in time I don't think he is. And ill stress this again... It's NOT the loses, it's how poorly we are consistently playing.

Gentle deserves until at least the middle of next season but if we're as inconsistent then as we are now then I doubt he's the man to lead us to the promised land

3 games ago gentle was the best thing since sliced bread,now hes rubbish, i am really upset about the last 3 losses and couldnt sleep mon night as was so annoyed, but we can still finnish top 5 and just maybe topple cats in the cup, some on here like seb are sad trolls who only come on when we get beat and have never anything positive to say about fc,think the next few games are important for gentle and i for one hope we can turn it around,

No, but neither does McDermott and he's won the damn thing the last two years. Wigan have lost two on the bounce, Wire have had a slump, all teams suffer them.
We had a poor start to the season, not helped by disruption in the halves, that is compounding what's happening now and clouding people's judgement.
You yourself have said at the beginning of the season that we're not top 4 yet, and now it's come to fruition you're moaning about it. Gentle got it right back end of last season, why can't he this year?

I'm "moaning" about the lack of consistency and seeming inability to get the best out of his players regularly. If he'd won a couple of SL titles or the odd challenge cup or 3 I'd maybe consider it a blip but for me the blips seem to be the good performances, not the average or poor ones. We're not a top 4 team, but then neither should we be a 7th or 8th IMO.

But you're talking as though the seasons over, there's still a very good chance that we'll finish 5th.

Personally, i that happens i will question what is going on, especially considering that by this time last year we gone from having McKinnon at FB with Horne and Seymour in the halves to Horne at FB Heremaia playing in the halves for most of the time due to limited options and bringing McGoldgrick in to the team to end up partnering in the halves after Gentle tried him at FB. add getting rid of others and bringing others in it was a bit of an unsettled squad and still getting a home play off game, winning well (yes Huddersield were poor by this time but the manner of the performance was uneniable) gave a decent showing at Wire.

This year, although we have had injuries to key players its what you would call a settled squad compared to last year and looking at us, without sounding big headed, we are a play off team but we still got to earn that place and if we don't i will be very disappointed and not making the play offs would be taking a big step backwards
