Did you just quote Marfa and agree !
I do too though Marfa ! In all honesty, last three performances have been good. But we've not played anyone in exceptional form. It could all come down crashing on Friday, I for one hope it doesn't! I'd be happy for Agar to stay.. but will he want to... considering Ben Cooper left last week as part of Pearsons clear out! Could he be ready to goto Wakey

Well said with both points - (a) credit is due and (b) now is the time for Agar's credentials to be tested. If I accept that all that matters is immediate success at Hull FC and we can't afford to spend any more time allowing our coach to develop then I believe the Warrington game is a "must win" affair for Agar. This is his chance to prove FC can beat arguably the best team in the competition when they are playing their best rugby with some silverware to be won or lost based upon the result. If FC beat them under those circumstances, I will believe we have a slim chance of reaching the GF and, if we reach the GF, I will want Agar to stay to see him continue his development as a coach.

| We have beaten Cats (who lost a home against Rover's this weekend) an out of form Cas and Crusaders who are going out of business. While we have been playing good stuff and I have been enjoying it lets not get carried away, we still have only beaten 1 good team in form (Warrington) the whole year and that was at easter.
Lets see how we get on against a fired up Wire on friday before getting too excited, even then I can't forget the last four years and not even a grand final win would probably change my mind.
Agar has to go.

Agree with all of that, apart from the bit about the Grand Final. If Agar secures a GF win from 7th/8th place, he'll have done rather well, I think. So well, in fact, that the following day I will appear in Hammonds' window dressed as a slutty french maid.

I think there is a slutty French Maid outfit sale at Hammonds on the day after the GF so you don't need to worry about looking for bargains in advance.

I've been thinking that. They certainly are pushing how many records are being broken and what attractive rugby is being played and that FC is the third best performing team since (is it) July etc aren't they.

I fully identify with this post, it sums it up very good
I also pose the question as to why was Sharp on the bench on Saturday when we could really have done with Dowes being there.
Also if he was being "TOLD " how to coach by soem one else I question his ability to coach any team.

What Cas had couldn't really be called a defence at times. We have undoubtedly done better in the last few games, but, as someone has already pointed out, July isn't that long ago and it was rubbish.

The only reason I can think of for Sharp been on the bench is to replace Whiting when he's needed elsewhere on the pitch during a game. This can be seen as great forward thinking by our coaching set up or be seen as a lack of confidence in certain players fitness. I personally think it's a waste of a bench spot and Sharp should be played if good enough.

my point being.... as I think you know ... is that Les Cats (for example) were a team flying high in the table, playing good rugby and touted by many as being contenders for the title. FC beat them, but on here we beat them because they didn't play well. I think people are so blinkered about Agar (and I can understand their frustrations) that they refuse to see how Hull are winning. They are beating teams up at the ruck - big packs like Cats (and quite a good job on Wigan before the players' ridiculous mistakes that I'm sure weren't in Agar's game plan) - with quite simple but effective drives. However, they are also putting moves on in the 20 that they weren't doing while we were waiting for Long to return, as well as playing good broken field rugby and backing up etc. Then we are going on in the second half as well - but this is down to the foundations laid in the first half where we dominate the middle of the park and tire the opposition. Warrington's pack will be a test but I don't think FC's pack will be afraid of them.
Another thing levelled at the team is that they haven't beat teams above them. Well , in the last three games they have done that twice.
Now, like it or not, the team are playing well and the simple fact of the matter is that it is down to coaching. I understand the reluctance to presume this can carry on against Warrington, Wigan, Leeds, Saints, Huddersfield but I'm going to see them play the game before I judge to see if they can continue improving (even without Tickle, Fitz, Long and Gleeson).
Btw, as an aside, how many of Hull's tries in the last 3 matches have been from kicks? I know the league average is around the 20% mark but I think we've scored 3 (one against Cats and 2 against Cas). We obviously aren't completing our sets because otherwise our tries would come from a kick on the end of the five drives.

I don't think anyone is taking anything away from our previous few results however after the promise of so many false dawns under Agar can you blame the general pessimism?
