| It's harsh to call him greedy and to state he wanted all the glory for himself, he is not that kind of player. I genuinely believe he isn't skillful enough for when in that position to do the right thing

There is simply no comparison between RLFans - or any other moderated forum - and Twitter. Anything goes on there and even being very selective with who you follow - as I am - you can't fail to notice the amount of pure venom that gets posted.
My point about relevance is that Twitter is different for every single person who uses it. For instance, I haven't seen anyone in my timeline calling for Yeaman to be dropped. Plenty defending him to the hilt though. Similarly nobody can realistically comment on what you may or may not have heard at the game unless they were sat next to you. So bringing those to sources in to support an argument adds little. IMO.
Quote ="PAUL M"Anyway Arundel was like a turnstile earlier in the season. I like him but he has it all to prove. Yeamans place to lose and if he keeps playing like he did on Friday PG will have an easy decision.'"
Arundel was poor all ends up at the start of the season, to the point where his signing was being rightfully questioned. However, by the time he got injured he'd improved significantly in both attack and defence. Hence why I've said that he could be [iconsidered[/i as a replacement if form warrants it. That's all. Just in consideration. I haven't called for Yeaman to be replaced by Arundel as soon as he's fit or anything even close to that.

I don't rate Yeaman as highly as some do, no. But just to clarify one more time - I haven't called for him to be dropped or for Arundel to come straight back in. Arundel was junk for his first several games and was just getting some form when he was injured, so there's no guarantee that he'd be any where near good enough for weeks. If at all.

| Yeaman doesn't do this sort of thing on purpose. His brain just doesn't work as quickly as is required. Decision making has never been his strong point. He's also under a bit of pressure from the new kids on the block. He made a hash of it , will he do something similar again? Yes. Will he run his blood to water and put his body on the line for the team? Of course he will , he always has. Until we have a centre that does everything better than he does then for me he'll get the shirt. I don't think we've got anyone at the moment who ticks that box and until we have we should try to play to his strengths.

| After reading all the points I'm suprised even by this forum the negativity about Yeaman and that bungled opportunity.
For me he was right at the point in time to back himself the only thing he got wrong for me was he delayed the pass too long and made a hash if it. Now the question is had the score been much closer chances are he would have passed earlier. We bombed a few chances against Leeds. I admit Yeaman does have a history of not passing as much as he possibly could but that is something I am sure PG & Co will no doubt be working on.
His effort in defence during the game outweighed that lack of thought.
The way some have gone on about it you'd think he'd coughed up the ball for Leeds to go 90M & score the winning try.

Honestly I'm not trying to win an argument on here. Im simply talking about my experience as an FC fan and that includes rlfans, Facebook, the game, twitter and the media. The fact you have not seen Yeaman abused to the point he left twitter doesnt mean it didn't happen.
Yeaman played well and made one real error. I'll take that every week.

| Is it really necessary to have a 16 page thread about one man's misjudgement. It didn't affect the outcome of the game and I'm sure he'll be more alert the next time a similar situation arises. Give the guy a break!!!

Unreal isn't it.
I said get real on page 9.! It's now page 16 that's utterly utterly mad!

Hull fans love a good moan, this is 17 pages, while Chris Green's new contract is 2 pages, which is more important for the club?
I watched the game again yesterday, I would suggest others do, Yeaman had a good game, his defence was outstanding, often rushing out and taking the man down on his own, did it to Watkins a few times, Watkins (Great player) stepped him once, too big a gap between him and DJ, but he still got back to help Ellis complete the tackle on him.
Also made lots of metres driving forward out of defence, unlucky in the first half with his try, great break in the 2nd half, massive error not to pass.
Lets be honest had he passed, they would have been a thread praising him, rather than criticising him, bet it wouldn't have been 17 pages though.
He is way ahead of Arundel, look at the last time we played Leeds, Arundel had a nightmare and would have worried if he was lining up against Watkins, he has potential, but lets not get carried away with a couple of half decent performances against Cas and Salford.

| It may be 17 pages but if you narrowed it down to posts based on topics it would be 2 - 3 pages at least.

| The thread is this many pages because it contains debate. If it was 17 pages full of criticism then the point about the number of pages might have been valid. Quite why some players some to be beyond any sort of criticism for certain posters is beyond me. It was a mistake to go for the corner as the percentage play was to draw the fullback and put his team mate in under the sticks.

Quite. Indeed Dave K, you must see the slight irony in your post.
From what I can see that most of this thread doesn't really criticise Yeaman, beyond saying he made a mistake. Which as I've said already, I think he would be the first to admit anyway. Other than that its actually full of people defending him and saying that suggestions of dropping Yeaman are off the mark.

| Yeamans a defensive centre plain and simple and on this occasion he thought he could score but got it wrong. Doesnt make him a bad player. Anyone saying he should be dropped for Arundel is clearly clueless

And while it was a shocker of a pass (and too late), if Pitts had picked it up, or hacked it through and dived on it, we wouldn't have 17/18 pages of discussion about it.

Crooks is way better at the moment, the evidence is clear to see on the pitch.
The problem some have is emotional attachment to certain players. Yeaman is a decent player, but not the player some would like to make out. You cannot argue with his defensive qualities, but no one is arguing that. The point if the thread is that a player with 12 years experience STILL cannot draw a defender and utilise supporting players.
Arundal had a poor start to his Hull career, but the signs were there to see that he was definitely going in the right direction. His performance at Salford, prior to his injury was very good.
If there is to be genuine competition for places, then errors like Yeamans have to be put under the microscope.

And Lineham is outplaying Briscoe at present but if you asked the the other 13 SL clubs which one they'd take out of the pair if they had a free choice it would be a unanimous decision imho.
