Disappointed to not have the 2 points, but however after last weeks loss I'm jut glad we at least got one point.
I had a bad feeling that if Saints didn't take the 2 and chose to tap it they would have scored. I will settle for a draw today.

It's not the halfbacks that bother me so much - as you say, we know we need improvement there. What I'm concerned about is our defence. It's gone from the best in the league to decidedly shaky in recent weeks.

How about, loosing our winger early in the first half, still missing yeaman, no o'meley a youngster stepping in from Wigan as our full back who has done very well, his lack of experience under the high ball is telling but that'll come.

We played poor in the first half and second half in attack, it was not until mid-way through the second half when we started to play a bit more football with the ball in hand.

We almost had 2 points, but settled for 1 after a penalty in the last minute, we played a team as Dave said that has only lost against Wigan, and let's be honest Wigan can dispatch anyone easily this season the way they are playing.

So how the hell can you not pick up any positives? Would you rather it have been a defeat?

What you have to remember aswell, is the fact we don't even have the best half backs! and we hardly have any options, so I think we are doing very well, I opened my gob far too early the start of this season, but you have to give Gentle credit, he's doing a fantastic job!

On current form I'd drop him as soon as Yeaman is fit and play Crooks on that side. Can't be a lot worse.

Think you are right, looks dodgy out wide, but our first choice centres are out and our winger not injured early.

As I have already said Saints are a decent side. Since Simmons got sacked they have won every game except the Wigan ones, including Leeds twice and Warrington.

Because we had a metric tonne of possession and field position but failed to score enough points. We let them score far too easily when they got down our end. And in the final few minutes we made some basic mistakes that cost us the two points. However - I [idid[/i mention that I was interested in what the folk who were there had to say as you don't get the full picture from the radio commentary and there could be reasons why we played as badly as it appears we played.

At no point have I said that I think Gentle is doing anything other than a bang-up job. My comments are about the performance of the team in today's game and, to an extent, the preceding two weeks. Gentle isn't exactly happy about how we're playing right now either you know. And I'm pretty sure he won't be mentioning too many positives in his post match interview either.

I said a while ago that the sign of whether or not Turner truly has turned it around is how he reacts to a bad run of form. The last few games have seen his bad habits creeping in again, so we may see the answer soon.

We are joint 4th with a game in hand, with the past 6-8 weeks dominated with injuries, lack of options in half back pair, if we had a pair of decent half backs and another class /winger, I reckon we would be in the top 2.

Our attack was very poor throughout *Negative* But we still picked up a point, should have been 2 if we didn't give away the penalty at the end, against a team that's only lost too wigan since a change in management (positive). Not hard is it, to be honest.

It was back to the Agar days IMO. Clueless. 2 Houghton & Horne last tackle panic kicks were symptomatic of just how much we lacked ideas.

We need a top class halfback, Gentle hasn't any choice as these aren't the players he wants.

Not today, though. He was up against a young kid today and didn't impress IMO.

We were all over them for most of the game and through hard work won enough territory and possession to win 3 matches. We fought back from a 12 point deficit to lead. Discipline and error count were far superior to theirs. Great stints from Lynch, Tickle, Houghton as per usual.

The game was lost because of lack of creativity, which is why a half is top of Gentle's list.we should be pleased we earned so much dominance and frustrated we couldn't find one more killer pass. Other gripes were Turner shooting out of the line (yawn) and Russell leaving the ball to bounce every time.

too slow and predictable in attack, thought westerman and horney slowed it down too much, seymour tried hard but needs someone to support him. Russell doesnt join the attacking line like mckinnon but is only 18 as people pointed out

Agree with you there, i wouldn't have seen it, Maybe 6th or below.

And a win against Leeds, St's & Draw, Draw against warrington, Cant complain to be honest.

Will I get shot down if I say Westerman is a liability in our attack he's more of a forward, I would let him take up the odd run and get him out of the main attacks/plays.

His discipline is poor and he's lazy at times making the tackle, I think we did well without him when he was injured.

Westerman needs to be out wide, 2nd half of the season he looked excellent there.

Thought it was a poor performance with ball in hand. We looked completely clueless, Houghton seemed obsessed with 'dropping the ball off' to someone bringing the play back into the ptb. Seymour didn't seem to have runners on the outside of him especially when he came into play on the left hand side hence why he kept putting grubbers in. Horne was slow again with the ball and got caught with ball in hand numerous of times, and didn't seem to do anything. Westerman seemed to try as always, but didn't contribute to anything or produce anything.
And seems we have another fb currently at the club who can't catch a bomb when put under pressure.
