Smith keeps going on quite rightly about our tackle technique but whatever they are trying to get the players to do clearly isnt working.
Have to say we do have some really dumb players who are slow in thinking and also slow on their legs.
This game now as we know is all about pace and defence and we lack both.
Smith has very few options as there are no young reserves who are ready for Super League but have to say the attitude of most players stinks.

You could make a case for dropping most of them. But we can't. So for me Lane Houghton. Scott. Macintosh for starters. Try Hoy in the Half's litten FB. Cator for Houghton. Vuni or Barron for Mac. Anybody for lane.

I think we should look at seeing if any teams would take lovodua off our hands this season and use the quota spot to sign a second rower from the NRL, we desperately need more size and quality in the pack and I don't see what lovodua offers that someone from the academy doesn't

Defensive work all week has clearly not been put into anything remotely good enough . Soft underbelly , week edges , Smith has hell a lot of work to do . Hopefully this diabolical display will make Smiths Who stays / Who goes a little easier .

I'd even say Laidlaw in for Evans. Or maybe give Staveley a game.

There has got to be at least a couple of players dropped next week surely, if only to send a message.
Will Gardiner was in the squad this week so I'd give him a go, he looked decent last year.

Said it last year when everyone was after sacking Hodgson. We could have Bellamy Robinson, Wane whoever and this playing group would serve up performances like this.

Can't take anything away from Salford , Who I though were excellent in all the things missing from Hull performance . Great support play , Line speed was twice as quick as ours , Offloads totally killed us .

Well played Salford, some very entertaining free flowing RL though obviously aided by such an abject defensive display from Hull.

Some of the attempts at tackling were pathetic and Smith has a huge job on his hands to lift this rabble for Friday night which has the makings of another 60/70 point mauling.

Lovodua looked a great prospect early last year but I'm afraid to say he offers very little. Lane isn't good enough, Evans is another waste of a quota spot and McIntosh tries but looks nothing like the player he was at Huddersfield.Taylor and Houghton are finished.

Gonna be a long season and hopefully the club are already looking at a squad overhaul for 2024.
