Back to the drawing board with the tactics. 2 years ago we built a side around size and aggression and that gave Sneyd time and space to put in some clever kicks.

Since then we’ve lost Ellis, Pritchard, Fonua, Watts, even Thompson had a bit of grunt in him and aside from Faraimo being a decent if not quite as good replacement for Fonua we havent replaced the others.

Far too many average squad players about now, good move to ship Turgut on today, but id cull some others too and free up space for a big new arrival or two to give us a spark.

With the amount of good ball we had near their line, literally any other team in the league would have beat them tonight. I know the rain was bad but we just didn't look like we had a clue what to do.
None of the players move. They just stand still and wait for the ball to get to them, then they set off running. It's so slow and predictable, and the reason we can never give our wingers an overlap. Faraimo was making solid yards all night but not once we did pass him the ball near their line and let him have a go at barging over.
Forget signing new players, sign somebody new to the coaching team who can get us moving the ball properly and at speed.

I think there needs to be a big cull of players but that can't happen until next year. I would be looking the world over for a new number 7, and maybe even a new number 1. Sneyd is predictable as he offers no running threat and passes to far from the defensive line, and I don't need to say any more about Shauls passing game or his ability to create space for his centre. We get into a good position in most of our sets, but no movement off the ball, taking the ball to the line and our inability to create an overlap is awful for a fully professional side.

It comes down to skill set for me. Getting upfield is easy enough, run hard, quick play the ball. Done. However when you get into the opposition 30, there is more pressure on your skill set, angle of run, speed of pass accuracy of pass, and the timing of your run. This is where we fall down. Passing slow, passing wayward, no players in motion, equals no way of breaking a defensive line down

I've been saying it for a while ..Hull are in decline.

The great thing is that they haven't even realised they still think they are the next big thing.

If you was at the game, regardless of the end result, as a rovers fan you would have been biting your nails, we dominated you in the second half, and wether we deserved to our not, the game could have gone either way, I personally don’t believe the majority of these posters actually attend these games, it’s just the little things they can’t know when posting, the dreadful conditions pre and during kick off, the inability to keep the ball, the off the ball incidents which go unpunished, the fantastic following by the rovers fans who were there, the terrific atmosphere considering there was really nowt at stake, great game and spectacle it had everything, downbeat comment from Bonaire, and the usual suspects, my team busted, bruised and battered, and rovers with a drop off inside pass game, and cavalier style were worthy of the now non existent points, and I wonder if at the end of the day with bigger battles to come, made the right decision to give their all, with the percentage of energy that must of took out of Tickle and the likes, we will see shortly. On reflection due to that superb first half the best team won.

I actually like our backs but we need a genuine partner for Taylor to replace Watts and a line-breaking back rower. Until then it l feels a bit Agar/mediocre - with Kelly and Connor we have 2 of the most talented players I've seen in black and white but no platform this year. How many games has Green played out of 25 this year?

Wow, the dobbins won a pointless game and now the grubs are all over here telling us they're wonderful and we're in decline. Shake your heads, we had no realistic chance of doing anything in super eights, you had no chance of getting into them and the whole thing was about bragging rights. They won and well done to them, there'll no doubt be an open top bus tour of East Hull so the great unwashed can all come out and cheer their heroes. We'll lick our wounds, get all of our troops ready for next year and carry on as normal.
