How can you say he's not been loyal he's honoured the contract he signed

We see the same posters demanding that we get rid of players they don't deem good enough mid contract, you couldn't make it up.

Good Luck to Tom Briscoe, we held on to him a lot longer than I thought we would to be honest. You can't blame him for securing a long term deal with a club that really does have aspirations to be the best

Fantastic player one that will be a massive loss to us. He'll show some of the doubters here just what a player he is in a quality team.

I thank him for his time in a FC shirt & the great memories he's given us. I also wish him luck in his international career but I can't bring myself to wish him luck in a Leeds shirt. They've certainly got themselves a potential world class player there & no doubt he will get much better service then he ever did here.

Its just a shame that he feels the need to move on to achieve any real success in the game. That he couldn't be persuaded to see AP's vision for the club. Speaks volumes really.

Depends when their deals were agreed, same a s Para, Feka, Thompson and when we sorted out the upgrades.

Went to Aus, found a club, told AP, AP went out and signed Paea, Toms deal fell through so he went back to AP and said he would re-sign for us to be told it was too late, his wages had been spent. The only thing you're right on is he signed for Leeds ages ago but chose to keep it quiet. He was told by his bosses that the right thing to do would be to tell the other players first then tell the fans, but for whatever reason he chose not to tell either, his perogative.

The following appears to be accepted though;
1. Briscoe offered "massive Deal" but says wants to go NRL
2. Falls through
3. We say sorry, no money left for that offer. So am now guessing that we don't offer a deal at all as
4. He apparently signs for leeds, as third choice, for less money than our original offer.

So this implies we never offered him the same deal as leeds were offering, as if so, he would have signed for us?

Either this is true, or some porky pies are evident. I cannot believe that we are unable to match Leeds offer. (we have since signed Tuson, Biggs? Feka) We either did not want to, or he had decided to leave no matter what.

all IMO but it does not stack up to me. I cannot for one minute believe that we think it would be good business sense to release our only England international to one of our major "rivals"

You ask me, he wanted to go to leeds. Might all be bull, but it's my thoughts.

Good luck to Tom provided some good memories along the way for us fans. At the end of the day you're just a contractor who ended your contract and signed one with another club so there can be no comeback whatsoever.

Hetherington is clearly not to be believed ever again but then we probably didn't believe him before so no change. It's hardly a surprise Tom has gone to Leeds as he went out of his way to speak highly of them when his brother left Hull. Been a good player for us but there'll be another like him along the way no doubt.

Why would I know that when I haven't talked to my source about it? Even if I knew, I'm sure its something Gentle wouldn't want fans on a public forum to know his financial arrangements? Whats your salary Frep? Did you earn any bonuses this year?

Gentle's payout was enough for them to all go to Paris - not that it is anyone's business!

I think he likely did fancy the NRL. When that fell through, then the 'Hull offer lapsed' does seem a tad unlikely - similar to 'us' telling ourselves Paea wanted out of his deal with you. [iPossibly[/i an element of truth in those stories, but probably exaggerated so we can console ourselves we've not been gilted in favour of a disliked rival, or that the 'gilter' regrets it and still loves us really.
Briscoe was never likely to be thrilled at his kid brother been at the centre of that furore and never seemed likely to re-sign. Even amongst Hull fans there seemed to be a wide-ish acceptance of that going back a year or more.

Who will replace Tom Briscoe?

This was sorted weeks ago, I heard.

It was not announced for one reason. The rabid fans who have an anti-Leeds fixation would have made his life hell. His form has already dipped and to announce that at the back-end of the season would have been suicide. He'd have been under such pressure.

He played well for a few years, poorly for the last 12 months and has lost money on this move to Leeds.

Move along, nothing more to see.
