Strange isn't it , I can see Bowden making it with game time as his stamina improves but don't see what Johnson brings other than effort whilst Green to me hasn't progressed the way I would have hoped this year and needs to use his physique to dominate more.

I'm not too upset with this signing tbh, the only worry is the two year deal. One with an option of a second would be better.

As long as he is here on the cheap then it's worth a punt. If he turns out to be a success then great, if he flops, well he wouldn't be the first.

I will wait until I see him myself before I pass judgement on his physique, but the reports sound fairly positive.

It's perfectly simple. Or so I thought. Some unpopular signings turn out to be good, some turn out to be crap. So the notion that just because a signing is unpopular they're more likely to do well is utterly ridiculous. Do you get it now?



Not sure I was ever an 'outspoken critic' of McGoldrick and it hurts not one jot to give him some credit for his performances in a Hull shirt. I do think his contribution has been overstated, however, due to the reasons I gave earlier.



If there are no more forward signings, I can't see us improving on this year's return. I hope I'm wrong. I do think it would be nice to be heading into a season confident that the signings we've made will improve us, rather than thinking that it 'could go either way', though.

If Lynch is staying, or if we sign another proven, quality prop who can do 25-30 minutes a half, I'd be less worried about Feka coming in.

Just seen on Twitter @OptaJonny that in his last season with Salford Feka averaged 83 metres per game, which isn't bad but hopefully he can better that with us if he is as fit as claimed.

Think too many are being protective and defensive of him on here because he's signed for us.

Had he signed for any other SL club or even Rovers we would have a field day lamenting their lack of ambition.

He offers nothing in ways of improvement too our squad IMO but as someone at our club has obviously thought this a cunning master stroke of signing I will give him the benefit of doubt and see how he performs but overall not too impressed at the signing thus far.

He can't defend. Does an average of 17 minutes and so his basically a waste of time.

I've already explained that the two aren't mutually exclusive. There's always a chance that just about any signing could be successful, but in some cases it's a hell of a lot more likely than others. So, yes, I do think we're scraping the barrel, but it would be foolish to say there's absolutely no chance that he will surprise me.

I'd say a better definition of backtracking would be to tell someone you'll 'leave them to have the last word' before responding to their very next post.

Nobody's seen the guy since he left Salford except for the people at the club who decided he was worth a punt. This includes Adam Pearson, who apparently contacted him directly with the offer. IMO that makes it worth a 'wait and see' rather than a rant about how crap he is based on the last time he played in a crap side.

Feka got in great shape in 2010 for us but he then went on to have probably his quietest year. He still didn't seem able to get through long minutes but due to his smaller frame was having less impact with the ball. His defence did seem to improve though.

A strange signing IMO but maybe a sign of the quality that's left out there. We're meant to be signing Tony Clubb so we've not hit much to crow about.

maybe so,... but your team is packed full of internationals to play around him and ultimately you win things...... we don't, so signing a player you binned nearly 4 years ago doesn't instill me with any confidance going into next year
