What i have seen that tends to happen is that an initial package is agreed and then further payments are made until the dismissed person gets another job.

Mancini at Man City was given a payoff of 7.5m and further payments each month until he starts another job. Yet his 4 remaining years were worth around 30m.

Hence my doubt that if Gentle were to be relived of his duties I could not see him getting any more than he would have earned for the duration of his contract.

It's not constructive dismissal if the remainder of his contract is paid up. This happens in professional sports on an almost daily basis.

Awful under Agar, I was beginning to lose the will to live under his brand of football. I have mixed feelings about Gentle t.b.h. .The most frustrating thing being we are losing by small margins.

It was as far as I could see. Hullbg said that the maximum it would cost to sack Gentle would be the cost of his salary for the remainder of his contract.

My point about constructive dismissal was a response to his suggestion that IF it turned out to be too expensive to get rid of him we could just shunt him to one side and bring someone else in anyway.

My response to his main point about maximum cost was that there is no guarantee that it would be limited to the value of his remaining salary, as if there is no 'just cause' we would have to negotiate a release and he might well hold out for more.

Or he could simply be placed on gardening leave,and an interim coach appointed...................all irrelevant if we win on sunday...
