I think we made £250k from the 2008 Final.

The lack of any Cup run in the last three seasons has had a big effect. A Wembley return would be a huge boost financially.

The £300k loss is unfortunate but was inevitable given the drop in crowds (down about 17,000 in total between 2010 and 2011) and lack of success however if we can turn things around on the pitch the financial picture will improve without the need for any soft loans.

This is where a lot of your lot are getting mistaken, we have been a profitable business. What Pearson is getting at is that these profits were made on an unrealistic cost base. He wants us to be a profitable business while spending appropriately, that will take time.

I feel I should have had a cut of what Kath took out of the club. I've been almost full time on here defending her and Rule over the last 6 years, without pay, and not even a loyalty bonus. Shafted.

We made a loss one year in 6 years...in that year our crowds dipped (on the back of dreary rugby the previous 2/3 seasons) we paid a transfer fee for Obst, Commercial income continued to fall (on the back of dreary rugby and the economic downturn) and the fans were so miserable and fed up that I doubt we sold any merchandise in the last few months of the season. I would also imagine that some of the coaches we have got rid of will have been paid redundancy money during this financial period.

Don't get me wrong, I am very happy to get rid of the old board and make a fresh start. But it doesn't mean we weren't a viable, profitable business before 2011.

Well Pearson has already stated you posted profits but only because the club was not investing in the area it needed. Added to the fact you've are faced with a huge historic tax bill which has been negotiated down to one third of what it could have been worse case scenario.

The even worse story here is what would have happened had Pearson not been a willing buyer. Might be worth its own thread.

I had a little chuckle when I read the Hull Daily Mail this Morning. As a Rovers fan I felt after the stick we've being given in recent years I was certainly entitled to do so. However!! us Rovers fans are certainly not in a position to gloat. We've managed to get our losses down to around 200k but thats still 200k we have to find every season whilst the Bank manager & Shareholders start to want a return in the money they are owed and have invested. The longer we have debt and money owed the more of a problem it then becomes.

From Where Hull stand they are in a decent position. They have somebody financially astute in charge in Adam Pearson and a good season this year will put the brakes on any further losses which could create an upward trend.



This I don't agree with. When the EBT loophole was stopped we'd being in super league for only a few years. We'll have liabilities with the HMRC I'm sure but substantial wouldn't be a word I'd use.
I'd probably say they'd be about 1/10th of Hulls liabilities which for us is still a massive sum
