I thought Sharp did well when he came on tonight. But I agree, Turner is a good back up player but isn't a good enough centre, stand off or loose to merit a selection.

| Heard a few interesting things tonight and if true then Lord Pearson really does mean business!! The Jamie Lyon rumour has some legs apparently and a few players may find they are looking for a new club next season after being paid off. Also the Lynch deal has fallen through, not sure if that has been mentioned?
Could all be like.

| Quote ="Kosh"That's how I read it. The payment effectively replaces his salary for the remainder of his contract - which is the day he leaves. Once he's gone that's it.
In fact earlier on in the rules it actually says that the SC value of a player as agreed at the start of his contract is what counts and not how much money he actually receives, so I'd read that as saying that the termination payment doesn't count at all.
No wonder clubs have problems with this.
'"
Right, lets clear this one up. The 2009 edition of the Operational Rules included this statement in the "termination payments" clause:
[iHowever, save where Clauses 6.1.3 or 6.1.4 applies, the Club shall retain a Salary Cap Value for that Player for the remainder of the term of his old Playing Contract, being the Gross value of the Termination Payment, spread on a pro rata basis over the remaining term of the Playing Contract, notwithstanding that the Player may no longer be registered to play with the Club.[/i
This section was - mysteriously? - dropped from the February 2011 edition. I only spotted that change by doing a line-by-line comparison tonight.
Up until Feb 2011, Mat and I were right. Since then, it looks like you are.
Which means it looks like Bulls can pay off Platt & Sykes with impunity...

| The only way bridge will be coming to Hull is if we have offered him a shed load more cash than wire and they'll only be letting him go if they have someone better lined up

| We desperately need at least 1 more top quality prop as we struggle big time when moa and ogre go off. We're also struggling for cover in the back row as none of the 3 prospects we have there have been given a chance to get some experience

100% agree, which is why Lynch would be ideal for a year or two IMO. Hope the deal's not completely dead as has been suggested. Alternatively people have talked about Tickle going to prop next season which would leave us with Moa, Ogre, Tickle, Radford + academy, which is OK, but leaves us woefully short in the back row. I thought Moa was brilliant last night BTW.
I think there's probably quite a few more comings and goings to happen over the next few weeks.

first one is possible, Chester supposedly going to Wakey, and I doubt Mallinson would be accepted back by FC, we've not missed him (and he's done nothing of note with KR's fitness)

I think he's gone. Looked to me as if he was saying his final goodbyes after the game.
Had all the aggression coached out of him, making him look a right pudding. I won't be too disheartened to see him leave, however I do think he has potential under the right coach.
