| Quote ="Neil HFC"Radford said (on Humberside) it was for a choke hold, although he also said something along the lines of "if I wanted to put a choke hold on someone I'd back myself to do it properly" He also said that Brett Ferres (IIRC) did the same thing a few minuites later and it was let go. (or possibly a penalty).'"
I heard that. Sums up the story of the match really.

| Quote ="The Doctor"I must confess, as Cas fan I even thought some of the decisions were terrible, and even though it won't be much consolation I do think you got some rough calls. Really not sure what Radford did wrong to get ten minutes, surely a head high 15 mins into the game doesn't warrant ten mins in the bin, when we admittedly went high twice and stayed on the pitch- inconsistency or what...
I know Rich Agar will probably feel it in his wallet but I think that he has said what every other Super League coach has been thinking- hopefully this will get them to have a closer look at what he is doing, because he is clearly ruining potentially good games of RL. He's struck twice for Cas this year already.
Still, I thought Cas showed grit and determination to stick it out and I'm pleased with the result, but I'm sure you guys will pick up results as the year goes on. All the best for the rest of the year.'"
Your humility is much appreciated. The best of luck for the rest of year, including your licence application ( Cas is my favourite away day).

Well, if you have nothing planned, you're always welcome to come down and watch Cas v Salford on Sunday next week?

| Child was complete garbage, but I can't understand how anyone can say he cost you the game. It's even worse when you have your coach saying he 100% cost you the game. Sean Long was a complete idiot tonight
Shame Child spoiled what should have been a really good game, good luck for the rest of the season.

If the ref calls held and simultaneously the ball is off-loaded then it is indeed a scrum, with head and feed given to the team in possession.
He did enough wrong without this one though.

He cost us the game because whenever we had field position and looked to apply pressure he pinged us with imaginary penalties. He did the same to you, just not at as vital times.

| I dont think I can add to what everyone has said on this thread about the referee. He was an absolute disgrace, one of the worst performances I have seen in 30+ years of being a Hull FC fan.
What I will add is this. If it is true that some of our 'fans' where calling for Agars head after that game (in the vicinity of the press conference so I believe) They want to give it a rest. I saw a team tonight playing for their coach, no matter what any of us think of him, this is a FACT.
So lets stop the moaning and start doing what us Hull FC fans are good at, supporting the bloody team!

Look daft lad, stick to Safety Camera Partnerships and stop pretending you know the Laws of the Game or even simple common sense. The scenario you described has one of THREE outcomes:
1) Ref decides "ball steal" - penalty to side in possession
2) Ref decides "pass after tackle" - penalty to tackling side
3) Ball "comes loose" (as in either passed or stripped) as he called "held" - scrum with head & feed to team last in possession
The only time I would criticise the ref, given the above, is if he awarded a scrum with head & ball to the tackling side.
Anything to add?

He also gave a penalty to cas for (presumably) interferance that never was, that Cas subsequently scored from.

Why would he call held when the player had only just gone into contact was still on his feet moving forward with his arms free for an offload? If he did call held at that point it's even worse!

TBF, that's happened a bit this season, and when the player has offloaded the ball they have got penalised.

| After a couple of excellent pints in the Welly I'm still completely p*ssed off that I've watched a game completely dominated by the referee's performance.
Having binned Radford for the first offence he then penalises Cas for offside 5 times in 5 minutes but can't find his card. He warns the Cas captain at least twice but still only finds his card to bin one from each side for a minor brawl.
All credit to Richard Agar for saying what most of us fans were thinking.

| Child was bad for both teams, but ATEOTD he gave us 3 cards and them 1, gave them penalties in more danger areas (2 of with they kicked, BTW, which would have made the game 16-18 in our favour) and sent our player to the sin bin with no warning and repeatedly did nothing to their players after numerous warnings.
Truly awful ref.

| Quote ="cod'ead"Just where do you think Stuart Cummings is going to conjure up replacements from?
Why don't we have a wealth of experienced referees, all lined up and ready to take charge of pro games, as back-up because an under-performing referee has been dropped?
I'll tell you why. It's because our game, from youth level up, is inflicted with know-nowt numpties, who choose to vent all their frustrations out on the referee. I've lost count of the number of promising young referees I've seen in the past, who were lost to the game because they were subjected to abuse from parents, speccies and coaches.
I'm not defending Childs but you have to realise that there is little alternative when the referee pool is so shallow. Just think about that, the next time you think you know better than the young lad, who has bothered to get a whistle and take charge of an under 11 game. Why should he bother to be the subject of touchline abuse from some idiot who has never read The Laws of the Game?'"
I know that you will always defend refs Dave but tonight Mr Childs gave the worst display of refereeing that I have ever seen in my years watching the game - he was totally out of his depth and Stuart Cummings should hang his head in shame by selecting him for a game played (and I know we are not top of the pops as a team at the moment) between a fast playing team (CAS) and one of the best supported at probably the best Stadium. Its like giving you a Wembley Final Mate !!! I think Mr Childs will not have a game at the KC again.

| I came away tonight 100% happy with my team , everyone of those players put there body on the line ,how fitz managed to keep his cool with that joke of a ref was beyond me. I really hope that agar did speak his mind and takes the fine because games like tonights cannot be allowed to go unpunished by the rugby league.childs should be brought to justice for that performance as it just makes a mockery of our great game.
