You cannot just pick and choose when to support a club like when they are winning, the team needs me now more than ever.

People can do what they choose to do and shouldnt be judged for doing it. Everyone has their own reasons. For me its not about winning or losing, for me it is that fact that the coach hasnt got a clue and the players turn up like they cant be bothered to, i do see why i should be bothered to then.

There are some posters on here saying they are staying away whilst also wanting to launch a fans organisation similar to HISA. They completely miss the point that HISA was set up by fans who didn't desert the club around 1998/99 when plenty of others did.

Think your confusing deserting the club with trying to find a way to make a statement. The fact that i go and then leave depressed due to the same rubbish is actually having a negative effect too which i cant be bothered with.

people have different views on how that may be acheived, some have faith in Agar to do it, some have faith in the board to do it, some think drastic action is needed to shake the club up.

if we didn't care we woulden't bother saying anything at all and we'd go watch/do something else.

No it's not, it's a very small minority on RLFans, which itself accounts for only a very, very small minority of rugby league fans universal.

From an outsider's perspective, I wouldn't say that's really the case. Okay the team's having a bad run, but the club is an A-level franchise (only 2 other clubs can say that), plays at one of the best sports stadiums in the country, has one of the biggest home (and away) followings in the country, and has already signed players next year that some clubs could only dream of being able to attract.
When you look at it that way, is it really that bad? Remember about 4 years ago Bradford getting absolutely mauled at home by Saints in May/June, but then went on to win the GF and then WCC. Can't believe I'm doing this, but in defence of Rule (

), there may be a little bit of overreacting being done, esp when you consider where the club was 10 years ago.
Just my opinion anyway, and if you think I should just butt out I understand.

This is what makes it worse. The fact that we have all those things and still have to make do with battling (in the loosest sense of the word) for 8th spot in an extended play off system. With the amount of money the club is bringing in through record sponsorship, gates, merchandising etc, we should be competing with the best.

Also, it depends what you mean by 'bad run'. Our 'bad run' has lasted 3 years.



We'll be lucky to make the 8. The GF appearance of 2006 seems like a dim and distant memory.



Most people's problem is not where the club was ten years ago, but where it was three years ago. I remember being at the game where they avoided relegation by the skin of their teeth just before the merger. We celebrated like we had just won the competition. Of course it wasn't much fun seeing them getting stuffed every week, but we had nowt then. There was no state of the art stadium, we had 5,000ish gates and were probably nowhere near spending £1.8m on playing staff.

All the positive things you pointed at earlier in the post should mean that we can be competitive on the pitch, not just off it. Indeed, three years ago we were the second best team in the competition over the weekly rounds and play offs. Now we're also-rans.

Yeah totally fair points. Guess all I meant really re on the pitch is that good players don't become bad players overnight, and that in all fairness I bet you haven't played a game yet this season with a fully fit side. And with the exception of Leeds and Saints all teams have had up-and-down spells over the years e.g. Wigan. Not trivialising it or anything, just saying that it's still very close and it'd probably only take a 2-3 game winning run to lift morale again and get the club in the top 6.

I won't be there tonight but thats more down to it being a Friday night game and work commitments, if I could of gone I would of been there to support my team (its like being married- for better or for worse). I just want to be there to see it when the team finally gets it together and does a number on some team.

I wont be there tonight, didn't have a choice in the end but not sure what i would have done if i was able to make it.

@Roofs, very good comments but you get to see us when we are on Sky and that is about it, whereas the majority of us get to see the rubbish we are offering up week in and week out.
Imagine what the situation would be like if we lost those first 5 games as well.
