As does O'Loughlin. I also don't see him as being any more sloppy than anyone else in the team, the stats you yourself provided proved that.

He'll hopefully be able to take more control of a game from 13 and grow as an influence on the team.

People on here who know me, know how high a regard I hold Westy in. For me the kids a true great waiting to happen, people forget he's only 24, that's the same age as Chris Green! He's got ten years ahead of him, he needs to make this 'his club' and take control of this young group and lead them forward.

Brilliant player who maybe plays to many mins in the position he holds, concentration always drops when a player is fatigued, forgot he is only 24 his best years are in front of him hope he stays at FC for the rest of his career.

When are people going to realise he's not good, never as been, never will be, costs us games with stupid penalties at worst possible times, can't catch, can't tackle, think alot if hulls problems come from sticking with players like him, get rid and lets stop kidding ourselves he's going to be a top player, not going to happen! People had these views on Danny Brough in his time at FC, i understand its peoples own views but he needs support & backing of us fans they all do, there is nothing worse then making an error & having all the stadium on your back, anyone that puts the famous black & white shirt on to play gets my support, its a hard enough game without us lot booing or heckling. How Whiting isn't running out every week as loose man and captain is beyond me. Not the classiest but the cleverest, most professional and most reliable we have.

I'd never boo or heckle a hull player and I do whole heartley give my full support to anyone in a black and white shirt, but I see what I see and after to many games , after another bad performance , I always find myself discussing westerman errors, penalties etc, people talk about him been our next captain! What a joke, maybe 20 years ago, we need a professional as our captain, and we have one in Ellis , the days of a popular member of the team who's a bit of a jack the lad, who can organise a good up , is not the stuff of captains

Crap, both with regard to Brough and your failure to understand that it's part of the calibre of a good sportsman to learn from his mistakes, dedicate himself to improving his weaknesses, and be professional enough to respond appropriately to the crowd. They criticize for a reason.

But hes played as a ball handler & a lot of minutes in an era were we have been poor in attack & done a very lot of defending hes bound to give penalties away & knock on hes in the very thick of it a lot of pens are given away for offside for when we are not winning the floor. thats how i see it. he is 24 with a lot of good rugby ahead of him.

Westy has been a good signing for us, but he should be outstanding, our best forward over the season IMO.

Two areas he needs to improve on is errors with ball in hand and discipline.

What is a joke is when people can't quite get their heads around the fact he makes errors because of how he's played, he (for some reason) is put on to crash balls at the line and short sharp passes that are feigned out the back. As for penalties, he only conceded 3 more than Whiting, but he played a hell of a lot more minutes than Whiting. I think you're just seeing what you want to see.

why is it crap? people said broughy will never stick to a game plan.......look at him now, with the right guidance you can make any player a decent/good player if the player wants to succeed.

People just see what they want with Westy, they believe the bull that goes around and question his professionalism with absolutely no proof. Some of our fans ought to be ashamed of themselves for how they treat our players.

Never mentioned is fee ever when slating him, to be fair, that's not his fault, and I've never even thought about, and yeh maybe I can't remember ever game he's cost us, but he does, one that springs to mind, Castleford away last season, comfortably on top, scrum they 10, first tackle he try's a stupid off load, knock on, Castleford march us down the pitch , score a try and we never recovered, granted other players need to step up, but yeh I believe that decision costs us, and it happens way to often, magic weekend 2012, came back from injury on bench , came on when hull on top, penalty, penalty, penalty westerman, cost is the game in my opinion. And as for whiting, I was only suggesting someone better than westerman, not saying he's the best 13 in the world or that he wants to play that role, but would certainly do a better job than westerman! Makes me laugh you taking critisicm about him so personally, I'd love nothing more than for him forfill is "potential" but I just don't see it happening, how long do we wait, I'd get rid, and I think after the season a lot more people will think the same. I slated him at the end of last season and got hammered on here, after a poor pre season, seems like I've a few more people agreeing! Time will tell, I honestly hope I'm wrong .
