Interesting situation, Gentle has clearly set his stall out I have no doubts it will upset a few players however if the players are not prepared to work under Gentles regime they have the option to leave. My only issue with this is I feel he should not have done this publicly, if disciplinary measures (which they appear to be) are brought into any-ones workplace one would not expect those measures to be shared with all and sundry..
The fact that these measures are in place does not convince me that we will find our form again, for me that has to come with passion and desire from the players, I am not convinced that this public measure will reinstate that passion and desire, time will tell though.

Good on Gentle You get treats and privileges if you deserve them .Over the passed few weeks the Hull players

It's not a disciplinary measure. A disciplinary measure would have to follow a breach of club rules for a start, and have to follow a formal procedure for second.

Indeed, and as employee's of the club, Gentle has every right to cancel a concessionary day, and he was quite right to inform the fans, it's a case of not only justice being done, but it being seen to be done.

I'd wager those that are saying it's a media/PR stunt have never managed a department that have direct customer expectations placed up on them.

I don't disagree with that tbh, hence the brackets in my post, I think the word punitive measure would have been more appropriate as I doubt any player could be disciplined for a poor performance on the pitch. I have no problems with Gentle putting in a punitive measure however my thoughts remain the same, I do not think it is constructive for all and sundry to be aware of the punitive measure in place, nor am I totally convinced that will reinstate players pride & passion.

I would hope the players understood the reasoning and accepted the decision. If not they know where the door is.

On the subject of hard work, interesting that at the bottom of today's O'Meley piece Gentle says that next season will have a longer pre-season period. Sounds like he's getting serious.

Neither did I. Think it's good though that Gentle isn't having him play on, shows he values him long-term IMO.

Also in hdm it says were having a longer pre season , I really like this Peter Gentle and the new direction he will take us in the future

Makes me chuckle about having a break to watch origin, sky+ it like the rest of us and watch it when you get in from work.

With the longer pre season planned must mean Gentle isn't to impressed with our fitness levels, gonna be a tough boys!

You don't get rewarded for losing. Its a mentality I am happy to see employed.

I see this as nothing more then another test from the coaching staff as they again try to sort out the players with bad attitude. O'meley was one of the early ones to be ousted out, I wonder who will be next.
