Hall has made the occasional big tackle in the past. He went one-on-one with Richard Moore and saved a certain try, for instance. His problem is consistency and bad decision making as much as anything else.

The odd spectacular tackle doesn't make someone a good defender.

Halls front on defence is looking better and better. His big weakness still is ball watching and not tracking his runner meaning he's out of position and arm waving as the other guy runs past him. Needs to tighten up positionally but getting better. I'd always have an attacking centre with defensive weakness in my side over an average centre both in attack and defence like Turner.

Can't disagree with anything you say Kosh but would maintain that most of the time Turner's defence is better than Hall's. Hall offers more of an attacking threat though and certainly has more pace. So do we go for safety first in defence or all out attack?

Hall defended really well against Matt King recently, some of the tries down Hall's wing ahainst Leeds was down to the defence getting sucked into the middle and not having Tickle there won't have helped.

I agree he nees to be more consistent but I don't think turners defence is any better or more consistent than halls.





I did and it was a great tackle but like kosh has said it was only 1 tackle.



I'm not knocking turner by the way i just dont think we'd gain much (if anything) by swapping him with hall.

Just makes Seniors wing a bit stronger defensively for mine.

Thats the big reason for our right edge defence looking so bad on Sunday. Having Whiting, Hall, Washy and Lauaki there meant there was no clear leader on that side of the pitch and it was a big mistake by Agar not moving Burnett to the right and having Lauaki defending in the middle.

Think we need Washy starting at hooker for his defence as sides just spot Houghton to get a quick PTB hence his tackle count been so high despite his lack of time on the pitch.

Like the look of that side.

Trouble is Turner can cover a number of positions including H/Back, and considering our h/backs have just returned and Berro injured he may put Turner on the bench just in case scenario..If Longy features I doubt it will be for 80 ins..

Based on this Hall & Dowes to miss out imo.

Leeds are unchanged.

Would definitely like to see that side.

I wouldnt say there is much evidence yet to say that Turners defence is any better then Halls, at Leeds he was every bit a turnstile, this season Hall has performed much better in defence whne played in the centres, its on the wing he has struggled.

If Long misses out then Horne to scrum half and Turner in at stand off.

Yet several times this season we have had two players who see themselves as centres (Hall and Briscoe) playing on the wing. In Briscoe's case I think this is likely where he is to find himself for the foreseeable future.

He was playing in the centre in the derby and made an horrendous error. He should be in front of Turner in the centre pecking order mind.
