Finch just signed for melbourne on tuesday, so it doesnt help us this season! If hes half decent for them he'll sign another deal at the end of the year barring salary cap restrictions. Why would he want to leave the best club in the world?

Melbourne cant afford to keep him according to numerous reports from oz. They have around 7 players OOC at season end who are looking for improved terms.

Why can't we have both. I agree we need an experienced proven player but why not get someone who we can also develop as our long term general. The best scrum halves in the league have always been the ones that have been at clubs for a sustained period of time. I agree with a previous post that Horne at 1 and Orford Myler half backs would be a great combo.

Watched him closely on Saturday and although he short kicking game is spot on and a good support player....he took a lot of wrong options on last tackle and his long kicking game was awful......he is another one sufferinf from the sky commentry teams constantw@nking over him.....he is good yes but not what we need at the moment.

Ask yourself why a "world beater " like DB is hardly in demand. He fell out of favour with us, then went to Cas, hardly the top four team a "world beater " signs for. He then spent a year in NL which is not a place for "world beaters " he then signed for Wakey. Again not a top four team. And now has problems apparently there.

OK you have not said he is a "world beater " but some on here seem to think he is. He has a good kicking game, but thats all. Did anyone see him against us this year.? Quality is not a word that springs to mind.

As for Myler unproven. Do you think Wigan, Catalans, Rovers thought that with the 19 year old Dobson.? Or is it just because he isn't Australian.? I am sure if he was we would all want him.

Any Aussie we sign now is going to be still in Australia for the next 3 to 4 months waiting for a visa. We need quality now, not next year.

I think we now know to buy British, for obvious reasons. Who are the best two possibly available scrum halves in Britain... Myler and Brough. Either would be great, and an improvement on what we have.

Brough will not be returning. Count on it.

I would take some off field indecresions for somebody that was doing the business on the pitch right now!! Dobson playin in the nrl for 18 months is different to a year in the nfp and a dozen games in superleague.
