You dont think Hall having a loose carry or dropping the ball or bottling a high bomb or missing tackles is his own fault? Really?

He's low on confidence, the errors are a direct result of that.

How shipping him off to Widnes will help is beyond me. If we are incapable of coaching him and nurturing him then let him move to a club that can develop him, don't stifle his career simply because Agar is inept.

Yes he still has enough time to develop but that development is not purely upto RA, Hall has to take responsibility for his development too. Agar wanted to give him a run at FB earlier this season and did so, Hall was good there in preseason and started off okay in the first few games, he started to make too many mistakes and eventually his confidence was shot and RA had to take him out of the firing line.

Now if he is to bring him back it will be at centre, but who to drop, Yeaman I think is playing well and so is Whiting. The one option is to play Whiting at 13 and move Hall into centre but RA has to believe Hall is ready for it, I certainly don't know if he is and I very muhc doubt anyone else on here does.

Maybe it will help, Hall is too good for the reserves and not quite good enough at SL level so maybe a month in the championship will improve his confidence?

Cant work any worse than what weve currently got. I'd play Whiting at 13 and Hall to 3.

Currently our centres are not our problem, they are both doing well.

Like you say the only option is if Whiting has a spell at 13.

Craig Hall - 12 errors in 7 games.
Kris Welham - 15 errors in 14 games.

Craig Hall - 26% missed tackles.
Kris Welham - 14% missed tackles.

Hall has been given time (42 first team apperances in the league) but he is not improving and the main difference here is that Welham is playing in a team that are prepared to make mistakes because they have the players to believe they can make up for it. Rightly or wrongly Hull play a conservative style so its not surprising a player who is nearly averaging 2 mistakes per game and is missing 1 in every 4 tackles attempted gets dropped is it?

I disagree. In 2008 he made 31 errors which was the 6th highest in Super League.

Yes he makes mistakes, he also makes breaks and has flair.

You cannot blame Agar for Hall dropping the ball etc; Hall has the skills to be an international player but it is hiw ownn fault he is not performing

Sending him to Widness will hopefully give him his confidence back; he kept making fundamental errors which cost us games - these types of errors are not because of inept coaching - at this level catching the ball etc should be second nature and if he cannot do it maybe he isnt up to playing at this level

Like Kevin Penny the rore skills are there for all to see; they need to be developed to prevent the basic errors - I do agree Agar has to help him do this but for me the only way this can be done is by playing games and sending him out on loan

Quite the opposite in fact, simple. I've always liked Hall and think he is a very talented player but all this talk of Agar ruining him and making him make simple mistakes and having a vendetta against him is total crap. He is not immune from criticism simply because the rest of the team are lacking any flair. He needs to seriously improve some aspects of his game to make it is a SL player, simple.

Correct - he makes too many errors and always has done . If he cut that down he would be playing 1st team now no doubt about it.

If he focused on not trying to make errors he would lose his attacking flair IMO.

Also, if he was ENCOURAGED to do certain things by PRACTICING them in training with other team members it might help.

Hall played the vast majority of his 22 appearances last season in the centres, he still made the 6th highest number of errors in SL with 31.

Whilst he has undoubted attacking flair he is still making far too many errors after playing nearly 50 games for the first team. Why are some people completely ignoring this serious flaw in his game and not recognising he has shown no improvement in terms of learning from those mistakes?

He doesn't have to focus on not making errors, he just needs learn from the mistakes he is making and make better decisions, particularly in relation to where is on the pitch.

Nobody is ignoring the flaws in his game. But plenty of people are ignoring the flaws that seasoned pros continue to make. Out of interest how many players do you think actually did improve last season???

But it's easier to pick on Hall, the very same people who moan that we slated Lee when he was just as bad (if not worse).

His last poor performance at the KC was down to his 'decision' to not put his body on the line. Twice he had all the time in the world to take I high ball but he completely bottled it, he waved his arms out and turned his head away.

Are they? I think we've had a thread on this board criticising just about every single player in the squad at some time or other.

I wouldn't expect every single player to improve year after year, at some point you will reach your peak and its different for each player. What I would say is Hall is at the stage when he should be showing more improvement than he is. I'll take another example that probably wont be very popular either if you want though, Houghton hasn't really added anything to his game since he first came into the team.

Whilst Lee struggled with form his commitment could never be questioned, can the same be said of Hall?
