Got a lovely new haircut now to go with the rather nice Wigan strip this year. Much better than the bedraggled look he deemed fitting for Rovers.

I think Horney better watch himself after Russells performance on Saturday. His first game for Hull and he was brilliant, he was very confident and with more training and games played he could become a great full back for Hull.

No disrespect to Horne but seriously I would rather have a youngster coached by Gentle and training with some experienced players than Horne who is injury prone and really not as good as he used to be.

I heard Gentle praising Russell and how good he thought he was after only 4 days of training with the team. Not bad for an 18 year old.

I hope Crooks gets kept in the team as well, he had a stormer and I bet his Dad was so proud of him.

Russell wont get a look in at Wigan while Tompkins is there which would be a shame.

fade's are coming back and the curly bits are probably due to his gypsy blood(his words not mine), they all seem to have that curly style mullet/fade thing on big fat gypsy weddings

Charnley and Tomkins click amazingly and I would imagine most of Charnleys tries have came from a piece of Tomkins magic.

Charnley is like Ryan Hall in that he never seems to get involved in his sides 20 to help out the forwards and you cant have 2 hugging the sideline wingers in the same side IMO.

When do Wigan have exit sets? Rarely. Tomkins kick returns usually put them past the 20 and it's usually Charnley that drops back on the last tackle to aid Tomkins.

I know what you're saying but Wigan are rarely in the position of having to dig out of their 20 and Tomkins seems fit enough to consistently return kicks for 80 minutes, He seems to do on his own what other teams would have a winger sharing.

He has not been better so far this season, however when Briscoe is on form he is the best, simply really. Briscoe needs to build his defensive play as Charnley is better defensively.
