What concerns me is we appear to have been lied to about Long, how he can go from being in the 19 as a possibility to not coming back until at least Wigan is a little odd. The club made strides in communications last season, I'd hoped they would kick on from there, but it's early days I guess; unless of course he's had different medical advice in the intervening period, which we don't know about?

perhaps when he was named in the 19,he had a chance but pulled up again in training the day before?if he was to play against wrexham,he would have had to have had a fitness test at some point before the game-he could have made it worse at this point,hence the club now saying he could be out for the next 2 games.

When we won our first two games you did everything possible not to praise Agar and said Agar could take no credit for the wins.

Yet now we have lost you are all over Agar like a rash.

I think you'll find I gave Agar credit for bringing people in, all I have said is he needs to have the guts to change things for Friday, and commented (as some others have) that I question he posesses such guts. But we'll see on Friday.

I don't disagree about the need for him to show some balls in his selections and I am far from won over by Agar despite the excellent recruitment in the offseason.

I just don't see how every win has to treated with pro Agar comments and likewise with every defeat. Sometimes teams play badly, that's just the nature of sport. However if you are going to slag the coach then you have to praise aswell.

I agree, Fitz wont settle for complacency and neither will Long which is why I think decisions about changes to half back pairings etc in the absence of Long will probably be made by Fitz or Long going to Agar and advising him what should be done.
As a coach you cant have players with that kind of experience and refuse to acknowledge their suggestions and Im sure Agar wont.

I don't really have an issue with how Long's injury was dealt with last week. As I see it, we simply kept our cards close to our chest and tried to keep Crusaders guessing who would play for as long as possible. If the club inform the fans honestly about our injury situations early in the week, then we could be handing an advantage to the opposition.

The thing Agar clearly got wrong was his selection of a 6&7 combination that has failed to spark many times in the past.

I was thinking that. Can't remember a decent game between the two sides for ages. They usually seem to be pretty dour affairs.

The worrying thing is that Agar should be able to recognise for himself that the Washy and Horne combination simply does not work.

Maybe in training the Horne/Washy partnership has been on fire and Long is in agreement with RA that they are the best pairing but like the vast majority of players last weekend they too simply didnt turn up !!

It will be our third season without a backup 7, which is what concerns me more than anything, but then I also accept that the leagues aren't exactly awash with affordable and viable options (see Thorman/Thurston for evidence)

Maybe Eddie and Stevo have asked for the possibility of a 'drab' game this week to give their 'tickers' a bit of a rest after the Wigan/Warrington game ??

I don’t know what the answer is at 6 & 7 when Long is missing, but I’m not paid to select a side to win games for Hull FC. I just found his selection on Sunday to be disappointing and lacking in guts.

I personally dont think its the correct pairing as there was no talking between them and the team never mind leadership but I dont see what goes on at training and am not privvy to their team talks etc.
I really do think its time to try something fresh in the halves but will it happen ? Of course not !!
