We don't need a world class 7, we need a good 7 who can organise the team and who has a good kicking game (and stays fit). With teh best will in the world, dobson isn't a great player, he just does the organisation well, kicks well and his support play is excellent. The fact he is young and manages to get on the field every week is a bonus

Whilst I believe that we cant compete with many clubs when it comes to player recruitment and that our recruitment policy is utter dross, There isnt a single SL club who has a world class 7. The only ones I remember in the SL era are Langer, Johns and Jones. We cant expect a world class 7 becuase the amount of money needed to bring one here would be ridiculous, we just need a good halfback, I think we should look at players with talent and potential on the fringes or even reserve grades of the NRL.

Those who say that without our board there would be no club are talking rubbish imo. Whether anyone has tried buying the club or not is irrlevant. If the club was put up for sale it would be much more likely someone would make an offer. Generally in sport, when someone wants to sell a club, they end up been able to sell.

But why would they want to sell? The main reason would be because they don't make enough money. Thats easy to ratify if supporters were committed enough. I wouldnt recommend a boycott but if no one did the lottery, bought merchandise, didnt buy away tickets in advance from the club etc then it would be much harder to make a profit.

Then there are sponsors. If the club has an image that its current board are disliked, that is bad for the club and may effect companies wanting to sponsor.

Theres another way is to scare the board away from the cub but I dont want to talk about that as thats an idea I really dont like, but its an idea none the less.

Boycotts of games are useless. The best protests are inside the ground. I've said it before, but banners etc get the message across, especially on Sky games. You can also have sit ins after the game, either on the pitch or in the stands. I'd definately take part if there was a large protest after the game on the pitch. Also after the game their could be a large protest outside the entrances to the stadium. With enough numbers you could even get up to the directors boxes etc, its not exactly hard to go to them.

At the end of the day, anything that is done would need people leading the way, and making it well publicised. The board may have done good things for the club but they have done bad things too. In 3 of the past 4 season there have been major '...gates', and they are hiring staff who are getting together a crap team on the pitch, and staff who are ruining the potential of our young players, turning some of the top youngsters in the country into average SL players. How many players from the 05/06/07 u21 finals are top players now? How many have become average SL players? How many are now in the lower leagues?

A clubs failure, no matter what it is, always has its roots at board level. Its how the board deals with it that matters and at the moment they are not dealing with the problems at this club, in fact at times they are the problem

Offers have been made. A price could not be agreed. If the board wanted to leave, and could not agree a price with a prospective buyer, they could simply call in their debts, cut their losses, and close the club.



This may be unlikely, but it is possible. It would depend on the difference between the highest offer and the amount of cash that could be reclaimed from the defunct club.



You really want to roll those dice? For what? A change of shareholders with no guarantee that the new board would be any better than the old, or that they would have sufficient resources to properly fund the club going forward?

one notable exception from the last few months being Newcastle FC.



Given the current financial climate I'd be suprised to see people queueing up to buy Hull from the current board tbh.

The club has £150,000 worth of assets



How do the shareholders "get their money" back?



Would it not be more sensible to keep the club going, cream off the profits, pay themself a nice wage and "consultancy fees"



Because keeping the club "open" would cost them what exactly?



So will we REALLY have no Hull FC? would they really "CLOSE THE CLUB"???
