Not really, folkes has 10 years on agar in first grade coaching.
The 2 are still not comparable, why did huddersfield choose an inexperienced coach over him? Maybe the same reason we did! HTH!!

Seems to me a few teams are over achieving given their resources.

Regardless of results they seem intent on entertaining, all season we seemed content with grinding out wins - attacking play non-existent.

Massive recruitment in the pack & only one ageing ball player recruited shows we will be sticking with 5 drives & a kick next year. They ought to be better drives & kicks than this year admittedly.

Frankly quite envious of virtually every team in SL who play with ambition & rather more determination than we seem ablle to muster.

our backs aren't the problem, we showed against rovers if our pack can get on top we can play some good rugby, were just too weak up top.

Sadly his apprentiship has been under sub standard coaches too which isnt the best. He has matured into an average first team coach at best and yes im writing him off after 1 season.

that would be a mistake IMHO. If 10 games into next season were still no good I will agree that he's out of his depth. But this season I think it's most of our players that are out of there depth.

From people I speak to who do not frequent these forums it seems the majority think Agar is out of his depth, including some fairly well respected former players, although one or two of them have alluded to the fact that it may be Sharp's interference that is causing issues too.

Time will tell, I just hope we have something left to play for if and when the decision is made.

But he could argue that with so many new players in his squad they are taking time to gel.

There's no doubt in my mind that appointing Sharp was a big mistake, and has to carry quite a lot of the blame for this season's nightmare. However, it does start to [isound[/i like yet another excuse for Agar. Last season he was being stifled by Peter Sharp, this season there's a whole bunch of new reasons why he's failed to live up to some people's expectations. According to some, Agar is one of the unluckiest coaches in the history of the game.



If Sharp [iis[/i the main problem, and he's still here next season, then we can just look forward to more of the same regardless of how good or bad Agar might be.

The irony is that an Agar/Sharp coaching duo was a Dream Team for quite a few folk on here while we were discussing who should replace PS. How times change.

Yep, five drives and a kick. His main success came when he has a side that was filled with superstars.

The difference is Paul that the [ievidence[/i supports the observation that Agar is useless, there is no evidence to suggest people who think so are wrong.

The point is everyone is entitled to air their views, whether that's pro or anti Agar or whether it's somewhere inbetween.

I would suggest he would need to win at least 8, however a lot will depend on who we play for the first 8 matches.

Also we maybe judging Agar without Sharpe, maybe some-one else, new players these factors will imo change things

I stated at the time the appointment of Sharp was a big mistake and saw absolutely no reason for him being here. He is a dull coach and a dull person but his influence over the team structure is there for all to see.

Very few people thought it was a good idea, apart from the one's who see their FC memories through a haze of nostalgia accompanied by the Hovis music, he was a dull player as well.

Like I say a lot will depend on the fixtures, also we as fans maybe happy with 5.

I do not have a problem with losing, however as these last 2 seasons have proven it is the manner in which we lose. All I want as I am sure many others do is PASSION, PRIDE & EFFORT.

We may win 5 and lose 5 which could be very close encounters with very entertaining rugby on display and I am sure the board, fans, teams and coaches maybe happy with that.

Its certainly not Smiths team, but the other cup finalist Nathan Brown how long has he been at Hudds ? not long i dont think and what a change he has made with what most people would think of as a small unfashionable club
