Nobody wants him to rant but the fact he says these things over and over means they're not sorted. I just want him to sort it out then he wouldn't have to repeat himself.

To be honest I'd rather he refused to talk to the press until he turns things around. Plenty of other coaches in many sports have done it in the past. I can't imagine seeing his smiley face, with his cheery disposition after yet another abject performance does much to help the situation with the players. He's created a culture where losses are accepted with a shrug of the shoulders and a smile

Anyway, it's irrelevant as it's clear that however he speaks to the players they aren't receptive to it.

I heard he's pretty tough on the players, to the extent a few of them have had their confidence shot to bits. If you look at some of them it could be true.

As ever the effort is there but there is no quality. Our basic skills are as bad as you'll see in SL , our speed of thought and intelligence is almost at amateur levels at times and we have no organisation on the field and look as though the playbook went missing weeks ago. I could have written this any year for the past 4 or 5. Nothing has seemingly changed other than we've had less injuries this season. The squad is clearly not as good as some think but to be fair seems to try hard most of the time , you'd have thought that PG should have been able to mould them into something resembling a top 8 outfit but despite all of the fantastic training nothing improves ( despite what PG keeps saying ). Either he can't hack it or they are too stupid to understand what he's asking. Probably a bit of both. The worry is that something could be done about a lack of effort but you can't make a silk purse out a sows ear - or something like that anyway!

Think the only silverware Ellis is likely to see is when he gets his cutlery out of the draw.

It's niether of those, the players have the skills (we've seen them in action a few times this season), they can put the effort in but this is 90% psychological. The players are under a lot of pressure to perform (from all quarters including themselves), and like all humans can start to panic, make errors & force situations to get an end result due to the panic & pressure which compounds itself in a vicious circle that spirals out of control..this is why you see big scores between seemingly well matched teams.
We need a sports psychologist and fast, I can't see us progressing to Wembley on Sunday (maybe save us getting tonked in the final), we'll put the effort in no doubt but Warrington will do a Hudds on us I feel as we (the players) are shot to shat atm.
