I can’t read through all of this but I think some are being a little presumptuous. I would offer a word of caution. When I was in the army I was on the receiving end of a the Sun newspaper. Without going into detail they took a story from the Nottingham Evening Post about something that happened to me in Bosnia. Needless to say it had me swearing like a trooper in it. It was a fabrication as I had said nothing of the sort. I did not even speak to them or the Evening Post in fact….

Thackray can say what he likes about people outside of Hull FC. It's not a smart move IMO but it's his right to make his own mistakes.
TBH it's a refreshing change from the usual handful of cliches which players are taught to repeat.
I hope he plays tomorrow and has a blinder.

Thackray never spoke to The Sun. It was an interview with Richard De La Riviere, the editor of Rugby League World magazine.

BTW in the article he also says of Richard Agar "He's a brilliant coach... The fans should get off his back."

yeh it was cos of him we lost,he's a one man team. and before you say it watch it again where it said he had dropped the ball. I'm sure of it people don't watch the same games as me!! but i could be wrong.

Whether he went bankrupt for gambling I don't know, but I know it was nothing for Thacks to have a go on roulette £500 a spin. My step dad is a bookie and I was often in the shop myself when a group of FC players used to come in and have a flutter. The others were just your average bets but Thackary would bet on two flies on a wall.

I look forward to him suing various media outlets for libel then.
