Ok look. On paper Warrington had the better team. All things being equal they would have been expected to win the game. But the respective quality of the two teams becomes irrelevant when the attitude is as poor as that. Maybe a lesser team would have only beaten us by 40? So what? The real issue is that we weren't interested. I can't imagine that effort would have beaten half of the teams in the championship. Ability doesn't matter if you aren't going to make any attempt to apply yourself.

Hull really didn’t look right tonight. Wire were excellent and would have put almost any SL team to the sword, but Hull were strangely passive. I don’t know if it was low energy or moral, but it looked like most of them were just going through the motions.

It can happen every once in a while, but that was a striking example.

When you were good, I’d put it down to struggling to maintain the high intensity you played with week in, week out. And those looked a bit more like a fatigued team trying their best. Tonight looked more careless or disengaged.

Well done for your prediction- I went for a Hull win. Upside for me is that I love these meetings and Warrington have been my second favourite team since I first saw them at the Boulevard back in 47/48. We were outclassed that day too!

You could see from the off they wanted it over with, strange performance from hull all round. I thought after last years drubbing there would have been a lot of fight.

We play them at their place in seven weeks. Massive improvement from us required to avoid another drubbing.

I agree. He is no way a saviour, and he might end up looking extremely average, but I'm pretty confident that last night he would have given it his absolute all. Needs to impress to get a first team spot so he would have put in more effort than most of them. I'd also give him a go.

He’s in our A team, and looks good, as does Benny the Polish lad, problem is as with Hakim, the step up can be too much, ideally they need a chance when we are playing well, to change for Salford would be a bit like out of the fire and into the frying pan.
We must go again, work hard, heads up, claw a result if we can, weve been humiliated no doubt, but we won’t be the last team this will happen to. Keep the faith Hull fans.

Well, quite. We run reserves, pay the SMC £800k p.a I think, plus County Road, and people want marquee players, more and better coaches and to find cash to pay people severance. Undoubtedly better decisions can be made, but some pragmatism, context and realism wouldn't go amiss.
