I'd also like to say that it was toasty warm in the pass holders bar. I took my coat off but was still too hot. Very poor of the club not to turn the heating off

No it's not. Players can become mentally and physically tired and burning up nervous energy isn't good. This is probably the reason why Gentle has set it up this way.

Rich Whiting, among others, said its not ideal to be there too early, and clearly the coaching staff have no problem with it. So why is it nonsense?

I regularly drive all over the UK. I used to do the M62 regularly, nowadays my main commute is the M5/M6. Not sure what the relevance is as I asked a pretty simple question...
How many times have players been late for games before tonight due to problems on the M62? |

Maybe a better question would be how many times any person hasn't been delayed on journeys into Hull along the M62 full stop never mind on a Friday afternoon. that they are players for a professional sport should ensure you take account of the road you are on, the day and time of travel. clearly there is no leeway in the travel plans
Sensibly you would be leaving at 1pm after people have gone back to work from lunch and long before people start to filter for the friday afternoon rush...IMO of course
I'm not frothing or even that bothered but trying to make the point that it could/should have been avoided |

The players do that run on a regular basis. Their assessment of when to leave seems to be pretty good as this is the first time they've failed to arrive in time and it's taken a major incident to do it. |

If players arriving at work a couple of hours early is too much for them then they might benefit from something to stop them feeling that way. How much too early is that then..is that better than being late or not arriving at all. I know what I would expect as an employer.

Yes there was an accident that caused significant disruption, but the simple fact remains that the Bradford Bulls (with the aid of a police escort), match officials, a small proportion of away fans and a section of FC fans that travel down the M62 to home games all managed to make their way to the KC, yet some of our starting 17 didn’t!!!!
Some people might not agree with this opinion, but I can only imagine what the post would be like if we had travelled to Odsal only for the game to be cancelled under the same circumstances.
Hull need to learn lessons from this and ensure that in future all players are in Hull for a pre match meal and final video session 3 to 4 hours before kick off.'"
Please refer to my earlier post. If you get caught in the mo mans land of between junction and accident it appears it doesn't matter what time you set of, if there is an accident you could just be unlucky. |

I hear about the M62 and it's problems on a friday all the time, why would you leave yourself such a small window when arriving earlier by a few hours should have no bearing whatsoever. By not arriving at all or risking that chance is just crazy to put yourself in that position |
