Really hopefully of Turner in centres, I think he has the credentials to be pretty good there. Yeaman still 'has it' IMO, just doesn't see the ball like he used to.

Whiting isnt getting slated. He's just not a natural centre. I've said he'll do a job. Sadly players doing a job in several positions wont make us challenge for honours. I'd have still rather have had Craig Hall. I like my centres to have flair.

Disagree, when I saw Turner play for Salford as an 18 year old in the national leagues I thought he was going to be a star at 13 or in the back row, I still think 13 is his best position don't think he will get a shot here there though. Last season he was poor positionally in the centres but was solid enough with ball in hand, I'm sure he will improve defensively but I'm not sure he can develop into the kind of strike player we want from a centre. He has the physical attributes though and maybe with age and a run in the side he could prove me wrong cos he's a talented player.

Houghton had the number 20 shirt last season, and think he would have had that number again this season had Berro not left. Hence why the number 20 it is still TBC. I really dont think we are that close to signing anyone though, and think we will start the season with Turner and Long in the halves.

Yep, problem in the case of Tansey is the cover at FB is is our first choice SO and first choice centre, so he doesn't have many options. If Tansey was fit for the Rovers game and dropped, as implied in the article, Agar did the right thing IMO, even though it meant Hall at FB who went on to do his ligaments after 58 seconds.
