Holdsworth is 28, FFS. It's not like he's over the hill.

If we can keep Chase focussed then he'll be a decent signing, I'd rather keep Seymour or Horne than pay a fee for Holdsworth, I wouldn't touch Brough unless his contract had more conditions than a UN treaty.
It's all just opinion, IF we sign Holdsworth and IF he then plays a blinder every week (or other week) then I'll happily admit I am wrong, but are people seroiusly saying that a Salford cast off is what we were expecting when AP was allucidating about player acquisitions?'"
Some how you are managing to talk more boll&&s in each post.
Salford cast off?
Horne better than holdsworth?
This is a player who has been excellent this season and looked great in the exiles game against the better players in the league.
I don't mind people haing opinions, but not when they his ridiculous.

I don't mind illiterate people that can't formulate sentences, good job eh!?
I haven't said Horne was better, but I don't think paying a fee for Holdsworth is a good idea. And last time I looked, 24 was young.

| Chase and holdsworth would be a great partnership.
Not sure holdsworth and Seymour would work, we need a runner to go with him like chase, myler etc.

| Holdsworth was under close scrutiny yesterday from those who know about these things.... the crowd on the terraces and I find it really hard, and not just because we are after him, to see how anyone could doubt his ability to organise the line, kick well and produce a telling pass. Everything that Salford produced came through him and Patten and quite frankly, if a few of their players had been a bit more savy to what he was trying to do they would have won...easily! He has looked a class act all year for me, we need a structured player and a maverick/runner at 6 and 7 and I think he will fit the first criteria. Only my opinion of course, but hard to see how anyone can question his flair after yesterday!

| Looked a high quality player to me yesterday especially when time after time triggering their left side assaults which at times flowed superbly from his fast and accurate distribution. Seems to have a lot of time on the ball and takes the right options. I'd be more than happy to see him in B+W next year and and hope we can pull the deal off.

Quote ="Standee"If that's the extent of people's ambition then it speaks volumes as to why we are where we are, he was average in a very poor Salford side, he'll not offer us much more than Horne/Seymour and cost a substantial fee.
and for those celebrating the "star" signing, NRL stats:
Club
Years Team Pld T G FG P
2004–2005 St. George Illawarra 6 2 0 0 8
2006–2009 Bulldogs 66 13 5 2 64
yeah, the guys is immense(ly average)'"
Are you for real? He was great yesterday for them. Involved in everything, organised well and was pretty much their only half. Plus he's a decent kicker to replace Ticks if needs be. He could play at 7 and would work with Chase well IMO.

| Holdsworth brings sturcture and a very good passing and kicking game. What he lacks is probably a running game, for me this is why Chase would be an ideal partner as he would compliment Holdsworth very well.
My only worry is that Chase doesn't get a visa and then we are left in an awkward position.

| Holdsworth would be a very good signing for you lot. He's been consistently good for 2 seasons now and is a good organiser as well as having creativity. Put him in the 7 shirt and Dobson will finally have some competition

Myler? I haven't really considered the rumour yet because I think he's been over rated, but could be the type of player we're after.

| I liked the look of Holdsworth last year let alone this year and he's only got better. Ideally I'd prefer Brough but Holdsworth would be a very good option as well especially if we still get Chase. Look at the HBs playing in the comp and name a better combo then that? All 3 of those players are very good passers of the ball with very good attacking kicking games.

| I know he's meant to be retiring and doesn't fit the young, up and coming category that Pearson has alluded to but I wouldn't mind taking Luke Patten for a year or two. Thought he was quality yesterday and a threat every time he came and joined Salford’s attacking line. He’s a specialist full back in every sense, top player imo

quota/fed issues, problem with all these players coming to the end of their careers, he has been a class act though, I agree.

| I believe that should Daniel Holsworth sign for Hull he will make them a better team. I watched him closely yesterday & in my opinion his body language indicated to me the may be a deal had been done. I thought that he played well within himself & mentioned this to others near me.

| If this is instead if Chase then I will be disappointed.
If it is aswell as Chase then I'd be very happy with that, what a half back pair.
I've said it before but I hope we get a couple of big scary hard hitting props to fill omeley and moa's places. The best half backs in the world wont do the best job behind a beaten pack.
