The bloke was all Salford had, without him they would have been nowhere near us. How anyone can say he had a bad game wants to look again. The only things I did'nt like was his two dummy spits. Did he feel frustrated that he thought he had b@llsed his deal up? Good deal for me.

If that's the extent of people's ambition then it speaks volumes as to why we are where we are, he was average in a very poor Salford side, he'll not offer us much more than Horne/Seymour and cost a substantial fee.

Even if Holdsworth had had a bad game yesterday, that wouldn't negate all the good games he's had this season.

Holdsworth along with pattern was excellent, they played some very fast attacking rugby that caused us major problems and it came through these two.

Funny everyone except one person thinks he played well.

do me a favour........ some of the best plyers in the nrl have never had a rep jersey....... take the countless mega number 6's who had an im movable darren lockyer in rep footy for over a decade infront of them... no matter how bad darren was, he was playing for the kanga's and maroons..simple as

We are in a salary cap sport and not every player we sign can be an international or GF winner. Holdsworth has been one of the better halves in SL this year. Pair him with Chase (for example) and there'll be very few better combinations.

As I said, if that's the limit of your ambition for FC then fair enough,Chase has more baggage than Service Air and Holdsworth isn't good enough, my personal opinion.

Loads of fans at the game spoken about how good he was too. If you can't see his qualities then it's not worth debating.

If you don't want Chase or Holdsworth who do you want us to sign to play half back? I'd say there are only Dureau, Finch and Brough who are better than the two of them.

If I had my way, of course, but I know that isn't going to happen.

If we can keep Chase focussed then he'll be a decent signing, I'd rather keep Seymour or Horne than pay a fee for Holdsworth, I wouldn't touch Brough unless his contract had more conditions than a UN treaty.

It's all just opinion, IF we sign Holdsworth and IF he then plays a blinder every week (or other week) then I'll happily admit I am wrong, but are people seroiusly saying that a Salford cast off is what we were expecting when AP was allucidating about player acquisitions?

You don't half talk some cack. The extent of my ambition is for us to have one of the best halfback combinations in the league. If you can name a better one than Chase/Holdsworth (that we could realistically be expected to sign), I'd be interested to hear it.

That's the problem, some on here think players like Cronk, Thurston etc. are just lining up to join us. They need to get real.

He's hardly a cast off is he. He's a very good player with the added bonus of being a decent goal kicker. And just to put things into perspective Wigan have recently signed his half back partner Matty Smith.

Smith is a young guy at the start of his career, hardly comparable to Holdsworth.

We shall see, the HDM has got it wrong many more times than right in recent weeks, I'll keep supporting the 2012 team and worry about 2013 in November.

Why is he a Salford 'cast off'? They'd be demanding a fee, so they're hardly 'casting him off'. That aside, signing a player from a lower-placed club doesn't mean they're a bad signing.
