| Quote ="mean_machine"What a pathetic way this thread is going. The difference between Rovers and Hull Fans in supporting their team and the vocal support they provide are polar opposites, regardless of game and setting. To try and accuse KR fans of over celebrating and whatever ridiculous statements you are saying is a diabolical attempt to hide the failings of your fans in supporting your team. I was embarrassed at full time on sunday when your team walked round an empty stadium thanking supposed fans for their support.
KR is a club of the people, and for the community. FC have lost this, and the relationship between the people and the club continues to grow wider and wider. Which would also be indicative of season pass sales. The exuberance in celebration was not just because we were beating you, but also because we can see people playing for the shirt. Not that you would, but come to any KR away game this year and the support will be exactly like that in celebration, if not numbers. I guarantee if this game was held at the boulevard back in the day the support levels for FC would of been similar to that of KR's support. Long Story short you have lost your soul.
PS - you should probably mention to talanoa to stop walking back to the corners after tries winding KR fans up and geeing the east stand creche up in that to corner to raise the volume. Or maybe remind minichello to stop fist pumping after scoring in front of the KR fans. It's only a friendly remember lads!'"
Well, thanks for that. Like the bible, well written, but ultimately full of Sh!te.
The soul of our club is doing very well thank you, especially when we've been stood in the Zeebrugge stand watching our lads hand yours their s 3 of the 4 last CP derbies. It was also doing very well at the McAlpine semi final in 2013 when the commentators stayed silent as we blasted out a 'special and amazing' chorus of old faithful. It was also in full voice last August when, yet again, at our 'soulless' stadium you were humiliated.

| Quote ="Errlee Berd"Not so sure myself, there's quite a difference in how each set of fans treat the fixture. That's not to say we don't care, just your lot care a whole lot more.
Take Sunday for example. Our tries in the first half were met with a subdued cheer, a few people getting out of their seats and a bit of an applause. The Rovers fans in the second half were at fever pitch, jumping up and down, dancing, singing, toothless grins everywhere.'"
There certainly is a vast difference. Your own derby thread was started more than a week before the actual game, ran to nearly five pages before kick off and currently stands at eighteen pages. In contrast there were no threads on the unofficial forum until after match comments and miniscule efforts on Rovers RLFANS.
I do fully agree with your points about vocal support and celebration regards the respective clubs fans but would add however that I find that to be the case in any game whoever our sides are playing. I would add that whatever the score had been on Sunday I would have expected the vast majority to have cheered off Rovers team win, lose or draw. I did however witness the usual fc walk before full time and was genuinely embarrassed at fc players applauding empty seats on their lap at the end.

That's maybe because you have about 10 fans who post on there, where we have a lot of people who post on here.
I went to two games at Rovers last year, in both games, the East Stand was nearly empty before the final whistle, so all this "We clap our fans until the end no matter what" is rubbish.

Seems to have struck a nerve.
The whole situation reminds me of the times as a kid knocking about playing football or rugby on a local field. If a younger kid ever joined in (someones little brother maybe), they'd take it deadly serious, try their absolute hardest & make sure everyone knew the score, while the older kids would just nonchalantly kick the ball around. The little kid afterwards would be dead chuffed with themselves & run home to their parents to tell them all about it.
Rovers are that little kid.

I've been watching Hull for a while now, probably in excess of 1000 games, and never stay behind at the end of a game to clap them off the pitch.
I didn't realise what an embarrassment I've been to the club for all these years.

You've missed a bit off there. You should have put "whatever the score had been on Sunday [i other than 28-0[/i", since the North stand was half empty as the final hooter sounded on the last competitive Hull derby played.

| Unbelievable, their forum is a dust-bowl compared to this one and they soon come out of the woodwork after a friendly win of 6 points.
I'd be happy with another FC Forum as long as that tosspot Lloyd isn't there. The man is technically inept and interrupts constantly.
Mike White or James Hoggarth would do a good job with Clarkey as MC. The last one was great. Adam Pearson is more charismatic and media-friendly than Chris "Y'know, Y'know, Y'know" Chester and the bumbling Mike Smith.

| Errlee Berd, if your'e going to keep going on with the hilarious big brother little brother metaphor, at least try and get it on point by highlighting it is not actually big brother, but an adopted hybrid of said brother who is only prohibited to play out by that big nasty Dr while mother Pearson bends over backwards on a whim with all the fake bravado in the world.
It is at least then semi realistic.

| Quote ="Dave K."I prefer to mock the fact you haven't made a major final in 30 years and lets be honest it doesn't look likely to change anytime soon.
We may have had some poor times since 2007, but in that time we have won play off games, won 2 semi finals and got to two major finals, it may not be the greatest success story, but paps all over your recent achievements. No wonder your fans celebrated a friendly win like it was a major cup final.'"
I think the dynamics and psychology of 'banter' is quite interesting. The no major finals (as opposed to trophies) in 30 years thing, brings to mind Hull's defeats on the big occasion, more than Rovers absence from them. The play-off thing is a bit more impactful, but winning 2 semis and reaching 2 finals is definitely double counting.
Similarly I wouldn't care much about the Wembley thing if I was a Hull fan, I'm pretty sure. It's the win that matters, not the where.
Another rule is that trolls usually get more bites with rotten bait. A good point tends to be a showstopper, whereas, for example, the Mighty F90, intentionally or otherwise, got loads of mileage out of being slightly wrong. Mixing in a bit of rubbish with a more valid main point has also been used effectively by a certain expert troll in the past, to provoke replies and keep the fire burning.

I completely agree. The last section started off as a question about fans forums effectiveness and has been completely derailed by people unhappy with relevant photographic evidence. Such nonsense.
Right.

This is a thread about media and comms. Nostalgia for times when the dustbowl had activity of any type needs to be re-routed please. Reap what you sow, ie barren, arid crud and let us discuss here our "speedsters" or lack thereof in media description terms at least.

It might not get better though now with HKRTV showing the actual broadcast of the fans forum from Tuesday because it means any hull fc fans able to view the audience might find Wilf (alias Kim Jong-Un) and Mrs Barista ( Ri Sol-Ju) could be back tracking faster than Jamie Shaul in his pursuit of Keiran Dixon at the derby. To be fair I suppose the more gullible may have been taken in by a photo from a small section of the hall taken at the half time break when fans were replenishing drinks (not £4.20 ones but I would have thought most realised the hidden agenda before making silly comments.
Still on to current matters at least Gareth Elliss is getting a good airing, in the HDM particularly, to the run up to his testimonial on Sunday

I imagine anyone of the black and white persuasion, tuning into this event would imagine that they had stumbled on an episode of the undateables, only the outtake version of people too disgusting and hideous to make it onto the show proper.
