Finch kicked from within his 40m line, the ball touched Burrow, continued on and hit Charnley - the ball played the man - then went out. Whether Burrow played for it is irrelevant, since it would be a 40/20 anyway.

If you re-watch it, Charnley went for it and missed, Burrow knocked it onto Charnley's leg and it went out. Hence ball played the man, and Wigan have the put-in.

We did have some ref calls, but then so did Leeds. It was just that Wigan were able to score off them and Leeds didn't (apart from one).

Leeds have benefited from dubious calls many times over the years including in finals so excuse me if I don't feel any sympathy.

Tough call for me, a replay is available on the bbc I player approx 2:04 into the game. I thought Leeds were hard done by but my opinion was skewed by the betting slip in my wallet. Don't think it would of been a 40-20 if left to run.

Just for those interested, Tomkins has been fined £1000 suspended until the end of NEXT season.

Odd, the BBC site says an unspecified ammount and there may be a RFL hearing tomorrow.

Nope, that was a Wigan internal disiplinary, the RFL may still decide to sanction him.

I did think it was the RFL. Why has it been delayed until next season? don't understand that. Surely it should be immediate.

It's a suspended fine. If he breaches before the end of next season, the fine is triggered.

I very much doubt any money has changed hands, I would imagine it's a case of "being seen to do the right thing" rather than any real remorse on behalf of Wigan.

Becuase on the original BBC report it said Wigan had sanctioned him and the RFL were still considering looking into it.

Am I correct in saying that suspended fines are like suspended sentences. You dont do/pay them unless you are found guilty of another offence during the suspension?
