It looks like one of those appointments which could either be a massive success or a total failure. Certainly looks to have the right credentials but seems an odd decision for a 55 year old who wants to be a head coach to take up a position as assistant to a guy in his late 30's. I wonder who found him and approached him for the role

A lot depends on how well he gels with agar and whether agar is more receptive to him than he allegedly was to sharp last season. I still supsect the guy has looked at the situation and thought there is a high possibility agar will be sacked within a couple of months of the season starting

I tend to agree with you there, the combination of Last and Agar would have been too imbalanced and lightweight (something it looks light Dennis could never be accused of!!!

) for many many reasons, however, it has often been said that Lasty will probably be at the club for years to come and he is certainly one of the most passionate foks we have on our books. Perhaps if the worst came to the worst and Agar went and this new guy stepped up, then Lasty would be a good assistant. The balace would certainly be better. But I agree the combination would be wrong at pesent and I welcome the new coach whenever he s officially announced!!!

Seemed to work ok with Hasler who's not that old but yeah why take up this position if its a head coach job you want, maybe sees this as better option than a lower grade head.

Beimg assistant to Des Hasler is slightly more appealing than being assistant to agar
