The initial report was that he'd had a slight knock and was taken off as a precaution only. By the time of the forum he'd gone for a scan so things clearly progressed quite rapidly after the game.

Really bad news for the lad as this season would have offered great opportunities to break through. Must also be a concern that it's an injury to the same knee so soon after the other.

From a salary cap perspective, what does this mean? Can we de-register him and effectively take his salary (admittedly it won't be a huge amount) off the cap to use towards a new signing/s?

We don't need to de-register him AFAIK. If he doesn't play any first-team games his salary won't count against the cap.

Don't know about that but I believe it's now the 3rd time that a player has taken a knock during a game and then been sent back on later only to then be ruled out for a substantial period of time.

Also my initial thoughts...however the difficulty comes when you listen to the player, the player must be saying they are alright to go back on.

Bit silly in a friendly though, just as a precaution any-one taking a knock should have been taken off and kept off.

Or the doc/physio gives them the ok to go back on. We'll see if we have any change when Popey leaves!

No just get a common sense one which would have told them not to send an injured player back onto the pitch in a meaningless friendly.

how would they know what injury it was? if nicklas told them he felt ok to go back on then they would've taken his word for it, just like when you go to the doctors, they can only go on what you tell them, feel sorry for the lad, but you cant blame the physios' or coaching staff!

It's not the first time this has happened. And guess what you just don't take a player's word for it either, their instinct is to want to be on the pitch. There was no reason for him to go back on at the weekend, their was to much risk involved in such a meaningless fixture. The coaching staff gambled and lost IMO.
