| OP a bit harsh I think. We were off our game in the defensive intensity stakes for sure and we did make some crucial errors. Had we scored from the break down the right and had Tansey found touch the HT score would have been 18-12. Ifs and buts but we are talking fine margins. Wigan were excellent and given their dominance of the possession I would expect them to be dangerous. The rucks appeared to be policed at two different speeds which didn't help us at all either. Agree Radford was pretty average but I also thought Berro looked slow and Cusack was a bit laboured. ATEOTD no team can withstand possession dominance of that kind. We played the top of the league away where we rarely win anyway and shipped a few but kept on playing to the end. When we had some possession towards the end of the game as Alibert rolled out the penalty evening up phase we looked reasonably dangerous. Not good but no shambles IMO.

The ruck was policed at two different speeds. Hull received one or two penalties for holding down maximum. Wigan were very good with ball in hand and for 60 minutes that is more or less what they had.

Sorry, but I'm entitled to an opinion and mine is that our attitude and energy was poor in a game where we should have been fired up as top spot was at stake. Our forwards failed to get on top. Our discipline was atrocious. We lost the ball in poor positions and failed to make touch with penalties twice. Our backs were shown up defensively out wide. I appreciate that Wigan are the form team, but come on, we had only one injury and only got 18 of our 24 points when Wigan had put the cue on the rack. To have nearly 50 put past us isn't really something we should be merely shoulder-shrugging about. IMO.

| IMO for you to play us after losing our first game with a tough new coach and losing in the way we did, meant that it was the worst time ever for you to play us.
You will be in the top 5 at least IMO which obviously is a huge improvement on last year. Richard Horne looked immense for you tonight, I have never rated him before just thought he was average nothing to shout about but my heart was in my mouth everytime he had the ball tonight.
Good luck for the rest of the season.

| I think you're being a little hard on yourselves.
At 12 - 6 you split us (Wigan) open with some superb rugby but didn't take the final pass.
Then just before half time you failed to find touch, we got a good bounce for Roberts to score.
Then in the second half we got a little lucky with Sam Tomkins second try.
It's a long season and you will get the run of the ball in some games (I hope it's not against us)
Good luck for the rest of the season, come and have a chat when we are in the Brickmakers prior to our visit.
Richard Horne was brilliant for you tonight.

| Almost every try in the first half was because of giving them a penalty in their own 30, terrible discipline.

| Just got back and feeling completely pesimistic.
A very poor performance by FC tonight. The right hand side got pummelled in defence. However, that does not warrant an excuse to give awaystupid, needless penelties or make ridiculous mistakes in dangerous areas of the field. I wasn't expecting a win tonight, but a performance would have been nice. Why did Long feel the need to pass the ball to someone else to kick in the first half? Still concerned about his hamstring? If so, shouldn't have been anywhere near the starting team.
Horne did well tonight, as did Houghton. Something has to change before next weekend otherwise we can expect the same thing.

| We won't win many games away from home as far as I can see, we may have beaten St's but the last two performances would have seen us lose to anyone on our travels.

TBH I thought Alibert in parts was playing to the crowd.
Wigan fans was like the scousers at one point , booing every tackle Hull made.

The Hull following was fantastic for a Friday night. The official figure was 2,100(ish) which is a great effort and you deserved to see a better and more disciplined preformence.
The real plus point for Hull tonight I thought was Richard Hornes preformence. He caused us(Hansen especially) no end of problems everytime he took the ball in.

| Was Long fit? He did no long kicking.
Horne once again our best player.
Penalties killed us, we never had ther ball and we therefore had too much tackling to do, we showed when we did have it we could score tries.

| Horne and Fitzy really stood out for you guys. Also, that Lauaki shows great enthusiasm - really doesn't half get stuck in!
I like the Hull set up, it's just at the moment, at home, we are on fire. Obviously the ref wasn't the greatest, but as has been mentioned your discipline seemed a little off with a lot of the penalties conceded around the PTB.
Chin up and here's to a good season for Hull.

No it was because we lost the collision, they were getting up too fast, we tried to slow them down and got pinged for it time and time again.

would have to agree with that. Wigan went straight to knees on nearly every collision, but were up and ready to go far quicker than hull. Hull could not contain this. In contrast Wigan had hull on their backs in the tackle and so controlled the ruck.
This simple difference contributed to the penalty count and thus field position and possession.
It wasn't that Hull weren't inventive with ball in hand, we split them a few times, we just didn't have the ball much.
In contrast Wigan had the ball and were very well drilled in attack. We were shown how to play EFFECTIVELY last night.

Spot on Mrs B.
If I didn't know better, I'd have reckoned that they'd stopped in Weir Bar for a session before leaving Hull. So completely not at the races (with a couple of exceptions) that Wigan could have put more on us without a problem.

Terrible attitude tonight - we were so not up for the game. Perhaps after Agar saying we'd "earned the right" to be in a match to go top. Bollox.
First half discipline shocking - a ridiculous amount of penalties and a lot of them late in sets too, Radford the main offender.
Tansey had a nightmare in parts. Failing to find touch with that penalty near HT was inexcusable.
Backs exposed in defence too.
Richard Horne looked good, Houghton made an impact and O'Meley had a good 2nd spell. A good comedy try by Long as well.
But in short, flattered by the scoreline and miles off Wigan's standard. They are so well organised - in a different league.'"

| last night was the first and last time i'll be going this season.
nothings changed since last year.
its the same predictable one out attack with the occasional suicide short pass.
half the team dont look bothered.
its still got to be the thickest set of players ever assembled.
whenever the opposiiton put more than 2 passes together they score.
and lee radford spends half the time doubled over knackered, the other half hes having a rest on top of a tackled player and getting penalised.
one more whinge... is mark o'meley affraid of tackling?
