Like most fans i was gutted when we handed our highly rated full-back to our nearest and bitterest rivals on a plate. But with the arrival of Tansey, i've finally come to terms with that and think we now probably have the better player. Time will tell but he certainly made an impressive start to his FC career.

Tansey is more in the mould of webb at leeds. Briscoe is solid and his support play is good, however he doesn't off the same threat as tansey does

A modern day athletic full back, who has his best years in front of him.

Was underwhelmed by the Tansey signing at first, but after his performances at the end of the season, he looks a great signing. Got potential to be a top class full back. However, I think Briscoe is the better player at the moment, but not for long.

both very different players to compare, would you have someone who may score a few tries but isnt that safe under the high ball or someone who gives the side that confidence that there as safe as houses at the back but doesnt score that many?
Tansey is exicting going forward ill give him that but he aint gonna stop Palleasena over his own try line like Briscoe did is he?

Tansey is very much like a lot of NRL fullbacks, and if he keeps developing like he has he'll be England #1 no doubt.

To be fair Tony, I'm sure that Briscoe has a better tryscoring record. If this thread was comparing ANY Rovers player to a Hull player, 90% of the posters would say the Hull player is better. There is very little reason behind Hull or Rovers fans views when it comes to these matters!

well we've got tansey so i'm happy with that.

if we still had a player like briscoe it would force agar into playing a ball playing 13 instead of a prop.

Just because he signed for rovers wont stop me saying he was a good solid fullback but think tansey has more flair about him and looked a class act in the few games he played

Tansey has the ability to go to the very top in RL, hopefully he will do that at Hull.

agreed, believe he will kick on and cause a lot of teams a lot of issues and does look potentially international class, similar mould to the current Kangaroos full back ...
however Briscoe will still be viewed in our house as one bigone that got away but should not have, best full back in SL by a mile for me !!

Tansey can play in the halves as well which I'm surprised nobody has mentioned.

Briscoe is probably the best current British FB, but not the best in SL.

No need to Compare Jordan to anyone at the moment.....

But i do believe this Kid can become a great (if not the best) SL Full Back!!.

Also Greenshields in better than him.

out of those you mention its only my opinion that he is by far the safest in SL and thats all i want from a FB, safe hands and a fearless nature in defence all of which briscs has in abundance even if he now plays for Rovers!!
, and MOS as we know over the years is somewhat led by those at red hall and based upon Webb last season he is a much better player and played ten times more games too i believe

Webb is a proper Clown! Dirty like you say.. Would take JT over BW any day of the week!!!!!!!

to be honest I dont think I have ever seen a game I can honestly say that Webb has lived up to the superman tag he seems to have aquired, yes he is good with ball in hand but not even close to Briscoe under the bomb and spills lots of high ball as he did at the end of the season , made less of an issue as he had the likes of senior etc protecting him!!
As for Tansey he isnt like any other FB currently in SL is he?? he has a very unique style about him as Barrie Mac said he has an almost Ellery Hanley manner about him when he carries the ball as his leading edge and seems to create tons of time for himself when on the ball but his acceleration is awesome, can wait to see him and some of our speedster youngsters getting a bash in SL together, the ball chase on full backs will be frightening
