We need to build for the future. To my mind that means blooding and perservering with young talent rather than persisting with old favourites who have been great servants to the club but who are now well past their best. If we want to succeed there is no room for sentiment.

If you honestly believe that playing Hadley would have won the match for us, then fair enough.
It's not as if Hadley was a regular, he was way down the pecking order, and maybe it would have done him more harm than good judging by how we played in the last 60 minutes.

I've said previously on other threads that Radford needs time and I stand by that. But I'm also entitled to an opinion on what I think he's getting wrong at the moment and what I feel he needs to improve on.

Not going to attract bums on seats for a succession of dead rubbers. So the big question here is, should the dead wood in the team be shown the door now and get as much experience into the players who are the future, or do we tread water until September?

If a player plays to the required standard it's irrelevant how old they are. If it's a younger player all the better for the future but age should never be the primary selection factor.

Got to see you at a match 1st......err,I don't wear them and say it as I see it but we aren't as bad as people make out and can see signs that we can challenge and our youth system is starting to kick in and will benefit us but some people want it now.

Going out of the cup is a big deal, given we've made the final a few times in the last decade and know what kind of positive impact it has on the club. It's a huge opportunity missed with the draw opening up.

We don't have the squad to win a GF, and although Radford doesn't reference it (fair play to him), we do have something of a mid season injury crisis with 9 players sidelined. Unless we get a roll on in the next few games, our ambitions will be limited to scraping the 8. If we get some bodies back, bring in a decent new signing as rumoured, and have a good Easter period, we can maybe look to push further up.

I think Radford and Last are doing OK so far. Positives for me are the commitment to playing players in form, searing honesty in interviews and setting higher standards in training and conditioning. I did wonder about getting a football conditioner in, but we look in good shape.

It will be very interesting to see Radford's recruitment for next year, particularly in the pivots. Could see him sticking with Miller, getting in a 6, Rankin as cover at 1/6/7. Really hope Azza stays another year too.

It's vital we start to win these close games. We've now lost 3 games where we've scored the same number of tries as the opposition and another where we restricted the opposition to 1 try. The margins between success and failure are small at this level and the lack of experience in the side is what makes the difference in these tight games. Win the next 2 games and it's looking OK, lose them and the bottom 4 is starting to beckon.

Personally, I think radford has made some good improvements but our lack of real quality in the key positions and individual errors is what is causing us problems.

Agree with the first paragraph but disagree with the last. We are a young side, in transition, that needs to play together : Shaul will become a top fullback, Rankin and Miller, I believe if left togehther wil become a top pairing, Westerman at 26 still has a lot of game time in him and will become a good loose forward, Houghton at 24?? is the same as Westerman but is already one of the top hookers. I can see our pivots, if kept at the club and used to full potential, becoming the nucleas of an excellent side. Just as Leeds took time to build their Grand Final winning sides, we have to stop knee jerking, every season, and I don't wear "Black and White tinted spectacles", I've been around since the 60's, I'm just bloody sick of all the moaning s on here.

Spot on. Nothing good was ever built without sound foundations. Stick with the young guys and add quality as and when it becomes available. I'd sooner have a couple of years of transition than have constant change.

totally agree our season probably is over but still much to look forward too.
