If you think setting out at 4pm from WY for an 8pm kick-off in Hull on a Friday afty on a notorious stretch of road that has few off roads along its length then you don't understand logistics which takes precendance over arriving a few hours earlier for a game. The match prep has ZERO influence so to spout it as a defence to arriving much earlier is utter garbage

Maybe you could list all the other occasions when this 'notorious stretch of road' has caused the players to arrive late for a game?

No it's not. Players can become mentally and physically tired and burning up nervous energy isn't good. This is probably the reason why Gentle has set it up this way.

I regularly drive all over the UK. I used to do the M62 regularly, nowadays my main commute is the M5/M6. Not sure what the relevance is as I asked a pretty simple question...

How many times have players been late for games before tonight due to problems on the M62?

Maybe a better question would be how many times any person hasn't been delayed on journeys into Hull along the M62 full stop never mind on a Friday afternoon. that they are players for a professional sport should ensure you take account of the road you are on, the day and time of travel. clearly there is no leeway in the travel plans
Sensibly you would be leaving at 1pm after people have gone back to work from lunch and long before people start to filter for the friday afternoon rush...IMO of course

The players do that run on a regular basis. Their assessment of when to leave seems to be pretty good as this is the first time they've failed to arrive in time and it's taken a major incident to do it.

I do and in all the hundreds of times, its never taken me more than 60 mins from Ferrybridge to at least Melton
