I hope so, you wouldn't think that the club would send Gentle all the way there is it wasn't likely to happen.

My only concern about this whole deal is that fact that he might not want to come, just a slight feeling of another Matt Orford situation.

Maybe Gentle has gone to Aus to reap what Kath and Rule sowed in 2010 on thier jaunt (wasnt the intention for signings for years to come)

Prince won't get a better deal at the Titans. It's them that have decided they won't offer him an extension and would ideally like him off the pay roll now. Of course Prince wants to stay at GC why wouldn't he. As SM said when he admitted an interest "negotiations were at a delicate stage". Clearly PG's job is to convince him that the Hull deal is better than 1 year at GC and then uncertainty and to be convinced that Prince will do a job despite it not being his preferred option. If Prince wants to stay in Aus then either he continues where he's not wanted for a year or looks for a move elsewhere. The latter still involves moving and it's unlikely in my view that he'd get 3 years over there. Prince will also presumably want to find out what sort of pay off he'll get before committing and no doubt just ask the coach , face to face , why this is happening. Either way it's a big decision why wouldn't he take some time?

Wasn't Gentle quoted saying something like 'It's looking promising, we've 2 targets and I'm goin over there to get one across the line'?

If so, that suggests the halves he's refering to are showing an interest in coming here, which according to that Prince hasn't. So maybe Prince isn't a target at all and its all just paper talk and a 2+2=5 scenario?

Was thinking the same, the whole Prince thing could be just a smokescreen and PG could have 2 other targets. Miller being one of them. All the best signings in the past have come totally out of left field and un-predicted, so u nver know.

Thats what I've thought from the off mate. I'm pretty sure the articles in the Aussie papers started from quotes on FC's website. The club always say they won't comment on speculation, but by naming Prince and Miller in the article on the website, they were the ones fueling that speculation! I honestly don't think if we are interested in either Prince or Miller the club would have mentioned their names!

As you say, we always seem to sign someone whos name hasn't even been linked with the club, and I think that will be the case again (might be hard though, who haven't we linked with us this year!)

That article tells us nothing about Prince, Miller or any other half back but appears to be preparing us for an announcement about McDonnell.

Hard to read this one, one minute SM won't deny links with Prince, now no mention in this latest update on the FC website.

Aussie press were reporting it was almost a done deal, now after comments that they would have no experienced halfback cover, backlash from sponsors and fans, the latest is that he may still turn out for the Titans in 2013, with talks with the Titans to be held tomorrow.

I think unless they offer him a 2 year deal we still have a good chance, if not then hope we are also talking to Miller.

Could be worst, could have rovers recruitment, losing two of your best young players and the though of Craig hall at FB.

Based on us saying it would be a short trip for Gentle,and it's now going into the weekend. The fact that Prince is holding talks with them and doesn't want to leave. That they've no other experienced HBs. Feels like it's not going to happen. Pretty disappointed personally. We've had glimpses of a proper HB with Mathew Head and Adam Dykes, and it's like watching another team. Holdsworth will make a difference for sure.Holdsworth and Prince could have made a step change to the team though, for all his age is a risk.

Agree about the 3 year deal. But in the short term Prince would have been a fantastic signing.
