Jury out on Mcgoldrick but thought he did OK against Leeds for first game and will be a decent squad/utility player for next year for me.

Losing Jamie Ellis is very similar to when we got rid of Tommy Lee, if Cas are excited about signing him it shows a massive lack of ambition. As for McGoldrick, let's face it we can't sign a full team of superstars and we need some experienced utility cover to compliment the young British players we are going to sign.

Tommy Lee is 5 times the player Jamie Ellis is at the same age.

I'd hav McGoldrick in the squad if it meant we get Chase as well.

Tommy Lee is a decent player, the club messed up his development IMO. One minute he was bulked up to play hooker or 2nd row, then he was asked to cover at half-back

Similar thing happened to Washbrook. Both players would have made good squad players if they'd been developed properly.

If he plays with the same energy and commitment then thats great
After some time training he should get better, see how he goes, hes only here till end of the season for now, we were never gonna get a world class player at this time in the season.

The fact that he can cover some key positions if need be and play in the forwards, I'd be more inclined to have him on next season than Aspinwall

If Jamie Ellis continues to direct us around the park as he did yesterday then I think he will develop well at Cas. He totally outplayed Brough and his kicking games is something we have lacked for years.

Goldie played well in my opinion and was in fact one of the better ones!!!

I saw it - 2nd half, they have a penalty on our line, they go for a quick tap and roby is right in front of Ryan and he tries to get past him. The ref actually jokes i think because McGoldrick laughs

exactly as i saw it too, no way was that a deliberate attack or assault on the ref, he was stood right in front of him

I thought he was pretty ordinary in the game personally. Was never really tested in defence and did nothing with the ball in hand. He may improve after more training with the team but I'd expect that to be his usual level of performance.

To be fair, he met his team mates on the bus journey to Headingley, what was late to the game. Hardly ideal prep for a player in a pivotal position.
