| Quote ="carl_spackler"Not that many, no. If they ever did get competitive in the midtable area of the PL, I do think they could add about 5-10k to their gates though. This should obviously be the aim, and possibly even achievable, but to start making plans for it as an eventuality at this time is as fantastic as most of the guff they've been coming out with.'"
this is the rub of it, Allam has already shown (quite clearly in their signings) that he can't really afford to make City a Premiership Club, not without borrowing, and he hasn't got the assets he is prepared to borrow against.
as you and I (and many others have said) a total non-starter for the foreseeable future.

| My opinion is that allam dipped his toe in the water with city because he didn't realise the depth of their problems and he's now stuck with a bill he could never have imagined. It would have been far better for city to have gone into administration, taken the points deduction and walk away from a stack of debts and inflated contracts for players they didn't want.
He's now looking at some way of regaining a chunk of what he's laid out.
I doubt that allam himself has any ill feeling or intentions towards Hull FC, however I just don't see that our tenure in the KC is safe if it is in private hands. there is always the risk that we'll either be kicked out or have our rent increased significantly. allam won't own hull city forever and we only need some idiot like duffen to come in again and we'd be fooked.
The worry for me is that at some stage I do think that hull cc will relent and he'll get his way

I think the same. When they were in negotiations and he said about the books being worse than he thought, I remember thinking at the time that he sounded like a man having second thoughts. I suspect it was only because of all his bluster about him being the man to be the club's saviour that almost forced him to go through with it, or else look a fool. Turns out he just delayed the latter happening.

No council will give away a capital asset like the KC, the auditors would never allow it. Even if they managed it, they'd best be prepared to sell everything they own and look forward to some serious jail time.

| He actually said Hull have a contract to play at the KC for 40 years or so, he was unsure of the actual time scale. He said he could not, even if he wanted to, get out of the contract with Hull.

makes you wonder if he's ever been down Anlaby Road and seen the "thriving" shopping environment.

| If this guy want assets then he should use his own
He has a business that he could use to get the finance
The Councils Legal people will not give Him the KC Stadium
just to get money When the Bus Company was sold we were
told the Town Centre Garage would not be part of any deal (Some body knew
the Bus Station would be knock down ) People can have a go at the Council
but they would soon be on they back if thing when wrong and the people of Hull
had to pick up the debt

| Foregive me but was it not part of our movement to the KC that we sold the HCC the Boulevard .
Our friends Hull City never had a ground to sell .
So should we not have more say in stadium than them or is my old mind playing tricks

I am sorry, maybe it's me who is missing something, but it seems there is a reluctance to comment on Pearson's position here.
For what it's worth, I too believe Allam is a 'loon' and do not believe for a second that he should be allowed anywhere near the ownership of the KC Stadium. It would be a disaster for Hull FC in every sense and I totally share the fans' concern.
That said, I totally understand why Hull City fans are distraught that their owner and benefactor will now be unable to take the club to 'the next level'.
What I fail to understand is why - given the diametric opposition of the two clubs fans' on the issue - does the Hull FC owner of all people stand 'shoulder-to-shoulder' with Allam on wanting to drive through his private ownership plans?
It is a truly bizarre situation and, until Pearson breaks his ties with Hull City and the Allam's, the suspicions over his FC ownership motives will linger!
