I thought that Sharp was no worse than several other players, and at the moment he seems to be receiving an unfair amount of criticism.

I do think we, as fans do not help a lot of players, by the negativity we give out, if they are having a poor game. We are supposed to be 'supporters' after all.

I dont think he was outstanding at Quins, he was making the same mistakes there as he is now.

For what its worth, I think the high bomb to the corners is a tactic that pays off alot. There are not many wingers in the world you feel 100% confident about coming down with the ball under alot of pressure from the chasers.

I am not buying that. Peter Sharp may well have been a disciplinarian, but his man management skills were clearly at fault to allow a talent like Brough to leave. He may not have been the polished article in 2006 he is right now, but all the skills were ready to be honed.

Peter Sharp was hindered by an appauling injury record but his tactics we are still seeing he legacy of to this day.

Got nothing against the lad at all, but as I said in an earlier post it's the defence and go-to play option for the opposition which is most worrying for me leaving them with the kick to/attack the winger scenario in the bank if/when other options fail.
Obviously at weekend TB didn't exactly cover himself in glory (aka sh!!!te) but as a general rule I prefer bigger stronger wingers like your Briscoes, Richards, R Halls of this world making it more difficult to attack the wings and also more dangerous on the returns.
With an open run, interception or put into a big gap Sharpe is brilliant (I've seen the lad go!) but I would much prefer a bulldog than a whippet.

If we swapped Briscoe and Sharp around Briscoe might not be in the England squad.

Feel sorry for this kid,he is one of the most enthusiastic players on the field even after he's made a mistake.Always one of the first to take the ball up.

Agree there Dabhand, I've just watched the tries again on hullfc.tv and he's left out numbered for the first two, the third he was indecisive but when Hodgson comes inside he gets no help from the player covering inside him.

I'm afraid I made an exception in his case too. I felt bad about it but he really did seem to have no pride in the jersey (I bet I'm wrong and that he was trying his heart out and everything just went wrong for him but that's how I saw it)
