I think this is a decision we all expected so it's no surprise. Tansey's gone so my main concern is how we'll line up on Sunday without a recognised FB. I may be in the minority here but I don't want Briscoe to be played at centre, I'd prefer him out on the wing as he's excelled out there for us. I do like the idea of Sharp and Briscoe on the wings with Yeaman and Whiting in the centre, Tansey could've made that a very good looking back line.

Wish I could share your positive views however 3 players short at least and injuries will hit at some point....I'm not looking forward to the season as it stands at the minute!

It's highly likely that there will be further recruitment though, isn't it.

As it stands I think our current 17 is looking strong, it's been improved by the signings of Sharp and Westerman and I'm confident we can have a good season. It's likely we'll bring one or two players in at least with the cash available and there's a need for new players.

I would agree it is strong however IMO we need a centre full back and a hooker to make the squad stronger, and at this late stage I don't think there is anybody of real quality available, after the 17 it's all youngsters with hardly any experience, I go to the under 20s often and although the youngsters are promising I don't know if the majority are ready for super league.

Respect to your club on what must have been a hard decision.I think it could galvanise your squad

True, the back ups in the under 20s etc aren't necessarily the best but I think we have enough quality at this stage not to be too worried mate. I can see your points but out of the positions you mention, FB aside, we only need cover in those positions, Whiting, Yeaman and Turner can play centre and Briscoe too if needed, whereas at hooker Houghton was always going to be our number 1 choice so again it's just cover there. I do think we'll see a few new faces too so at this stage I wouldn't be to concerned.

Correct decision, but gutted all the same. Not saying they should have kept him, but disappointed that he has potentially ruined his RL career. A great talent and would have further improved this season IMO. Rate him highly, but enough is enough.

That one signing would make the options soooooo much better.

With Horne and Radford to return it already feels more secure. A further signing, or preferably two, to follow during the season when the timing is right for all concerned would shore the squad up nicely.

Yep, as I say depends were Whiting wants to seal his place. Really feel he's earned a solid position. If he wants to own a centre spot, Sammut could play Fb, Turner in the halves until Horney is fit, then Turner sound back cover.

I don't see the point of putting Sammut in at 1 though, surely we'll get the best out of him by playing him at 6. Sammut and Long could be a really good partnership.

Would be heavily involved in the attacking line even he did play at 1. He has NRL experience in that position.

But he's excelled at 6 for Crusaders since he's been here. We need a quality 6 to play alongside Long IMO and Sammut would fit the bill. I think wherever he plays, if he arrives, he'll excell I'd just prefer him to play 6.
