Is rust bollox holding the thing together. Last derby match there was a good fifty of us at the back of the golf towards the Roger Millward side. We jumped up as we scored and the back plank which formed the floor on the highest "terrace" failed exposing a whole line of seats with no floor to the potential of the abyss.
The stewards freaked, but as it was a packed derby (although Hull supporters had boycotted the South and were populating the North) there was nowhere to herd us to. Nevertheless, their "Health and Safety" training kicked in and they advised us to "step back from the hole".
Now, I'm a fair person, but a breach of the safety of that "stand" happened on Good Friday, evacuations were not made on that day and the "stand" has being operational still to the end of the season. Hmm
How often is a stadium inspected for "fit for use" to health and safety regulations? Because after witnessing what I did in April, I'm sure it could not have been since then.
Perhaps this is why the North stand development has taken priority over the East? The Golf, after another year exposed to the elements after a breach last April, will not meet safety and therefore SL Franchise standard. So by losing the Golf, the capacity of CP would decrease by 1300. Need to press the council for the North stand development pdq, then.

How do you get that?
The golf stand will become exclusive to home fans, i hope for your sake it is improved, maybe a roof, maybe some side protection from the howling wind, these would have to be clear perspex as not to disrupt sight lines

Oh right, accept my apologies. I mistakingly linked 'flavoured' to taste (which with a window would mean licking, as you can't bite a window), and then linked this to your many 'window licker' (a derogatory term used sometimes about disabled people) comments/references in the past, and so suspected you was having yet another go at disabled people. Sorry if I've got it wrong.

Spot on, i am however unsure about the local council effectively been the guarantour for said clubs repayments. Not sure that sits well with me.

Thats the crux of the issue Dave surely their multi million owners could of been guarantors for a project of this nature. Its a private business and some of our elected members have chosen to put the city's regeneration prospects at risk. there where plenty that wanted the lincoln castle bought but the councillors wouldn't back any plans to create a tourist attraction.

Let Rovers apply for the funding directly and not offer themselves up as a guarantour.
(obviously that would have severely limited the chance of the borrowing been successfully obtained)
My preference in the current climate would have still been to do nothing. Go see the friendly local bank manager at Lloyds TSB and see if they will give you 4.2mill.

I'm interested to know on what basis the council decided to guarantee this. If i went to them and said i have a 1000 acres of land and needed them to borrow 5mill for me to build wind turbines which will benefit the envirnment etc do you think they'd simply give me the cash? (or would i need to get John Prescott to support me to get it?)

The council couldnt take over craven park, thats generally not how this type of borrowing works. I couldnt act as guarantour for a mates borrowing for example and the claim his house of him if he doesnt make the payments, i'd simply be liable to make his payments.
Even if the council did manage to take craven park that would only pay £500 of the debt off, who will clear the remaining 4mill?

Not at all. It would have been unpalatable to me based on the fact that financial institutions wouldnt offer that kind of finance agreement. (and they know better than the government)
The main problem i have here is our local council been dragged into Rovers borrowing to drag you out of bother again!! (you'd have failed to meet your franchise promises wouldnt you?)

Who owns the banks at the moment?
You'd have preffered the council to do less (that is nothing ). I'd have liked more help (I know: ). Not a coincidence. For different political reasons the council chose and manufactured something in between. With hindsight and dusting off my empathy it all seems pretty obvious.
