My fundamental point i guess though is that i dont want to hear the coach eluding to injuries. I want to hear the coach rousing the players that we have fit. behaviourally a coach needs to inspire and if they arent careful negative behaviour no matter how small can breed a negative culture. It's amazing under Agars tenure how often we lose a couple of key players and then go on a 5 or 6 game losing streak on the back of excuses.

I agree completely. That was my worry going into the Cats game but to be fair in the build up he concentrated on the players that were fit and we got athe result so maybe he is starting to learn his lesson in that respect.

Except that we haven't gone on a 5 or 6 game losing streak this season. The worst losing streak was 3 games (Warrington then the 2 Leeds matches).

| Half way through the season we are in 4th place despite having had a really bad injury crisis. We will soon start getting some players back and we are in good shape to press on and cement a play off place.
This is Agar's team and hopefully injuries will soon not be a major issue so where we finish at the end of the season will in no small part be down to Agar. If he blows it from this position then we will rightly blame him but if we can finish top 6 and win a couple of play off matches we will have had a pretty good season IMO.

I agree mostly. On the flip side though you could argue that we've already lost a couple of games we should have won outside of the injury crisis and then weve also lost a couple of games during the injury crisis that we should have won too. That would have put us 1st or 2nd. Thats my view anyway. Not good enough.

There are probably at least half a dozen other SL teams that could say that too.

| agar is a poor coach. Anyone can see that. We're spending the full cap, which only about half of SL is doing apparantly, so we'd expect to be in the top 6/7 anyway. Yes we've had injuries, but even when we've had a decent side out we've been poor most of the time. I think the fact we're 4th is a symptom of the poor standards across much of the league and leeds and hudds underperforming to date. Other than the saints game, we've not really looked very good and that apart, the only game we've won which maybe we wouldn't have expected to is hudds at home. Counter that with losses at crusaders, salford and quins at murrayfield, throw in a hammering from wigan and a couple from leeds and I really don't think we've performed as well as our league placing would suggest and doubt we'll be 4th come the end of the season

I know what you mean, it's not like a team such as Saints would go to places like that and lose, is it?

The thing about this year's competition is that anyone can beat anyone. There have already been bigger upsets than Hull beating Saints.

| If I was Rule I would have given Agar a one year deal at the moment, I think he deserves another year at this point and now would have been the right time to give him a deal in terms of recruitment for next year.

it was a massive call to give him a contract so early in the season.
The problem is how long do you wait?

Thats a major issue. It has to be done about now to get your recruitment done.
I think it was too early in the season (maybe something to do with the England job?)
It didnt help that it was on the back or the poor defeat at Salford.
The decison should have been made about now and only for a one year deal as he still needs to prove himself as SL coach.
Proved me wrong the last 2 games to be fair (I thought we would lose them both, but have won both comfy, still with a few players out) I really hope he carries on proving me wrong.

| just generally flicking through some of the last few pages seems to me that agar has proved a point to the knockers and you just seem to know this but ignore the fact,he has got hull through a rough patch with injurys by adding players like mcshane, putting hall on the bench knowing he`ll want to get on and play, using moa to his best abilities, bringing longy and fitzy back in when fully fit,its not rocket science just very good man management at being able to use the squad of players you have and sorting the wheat from the chaff, fair do`s the guy makes mistakes...but so do even the best coach`s....give the guy a break....its a marathon not a sprint.

| I think it must be a very hard season to support Hull if your are a member of the AGAR OUT brigade. Did you want Hull to lose the last 2 games? Was you secretly happy at half time on Sunday? Do you want Hull to lose against Saints when a win would be a nail in the coffin of your campaign? How do want the rest of the season to go?

The only point he's proven is that he can scrape wins against the whipping boys, lose to mid table sides and cop hammerings when we play anyone decent.
Can you honestly ever see agar coaching a GF winning side? Would he be on saints' or hudds radar as a replacement for potter or brown?

I take issue with the highlighted part. The only reason Moa is getting a game is due to injuries, his management of Moa is completely wrong IMO.
I agree we have done well to get through this injury crisis and come out the other end in 4th though. How much of that is due to the return of Long and Fitz though?

| amazed !! truly amazed!
We currently sit 4th in the table, starting to show some form and could quite easily take 8 points from the next 4 games which would put us in an ideal position for the run in, Saints see trips to FC as their bogey team so that could be the leveller, we have a week off to get more troops back into the trench and some are still complaining???
where were we this time last year ??
We have improved a great deal from last year however there were far too many on here who actually believed all the hype they were themselves saying on here pre season about winning doubles etc, we are sat in fouth, playing decent controlled football and looking good for it too.
and to say that you dont care how we play or whom we beat RA is not good enough is just silly!

Did you go on Sunday ? because it was not what I would call decent controlled rugby, we produced errors and had poor patches...although we won the game there is a lot of areas of development to be addressed if we want to become consistent.
